samjams 0 Posted June 12, 2017 Hi. I had a vsg on Feb 28th of this year. I was on pantoprazole for a required 3 months. I then stopped as I generally do not want to be on a ppi and I don't have gerd. My surgeon was OK with this. It's been almost 3 weeks now and I have generalized stomach pain. I cant always discern if I have pain when I eat or after. I just know my stomach is upset and it doesn't feel right. I don't kow if this is because I stopped the ppi or if it's just that I'm still adjusting to my new stomach. Has anyone else dealt with this and how did you get through it? Thanks.
Berry78 4,261 Posted June 12, 2017 I use Pepsid complete. It's an H2 blocker instead of ppi. Maybe try something like that for a bit and see if you notice a difference. Sometimes we need acid control for 6 months or longer.
jaminator 262 Posted June 12, 2017 its only been a month for me, but sometimes my stomach feels like its turning cartwheels with flashes of hunger and then crampiness. I hope it stops soon.
