James Marusek 5,244 Posted June 11, 2017 I was in the hospital for 2 nights. I was ready to go back home after 1. The weekend staff at a hospital is different than the weekday staff. I had my surgery on Friday. I would have been better off scheduling it for the early or mid part of the week, in which case I might have gone home after a 1 nights stay. Everyone is different. I was up and walking every two hours after surgery, round the clock. I took no pain meds after I left the recovery room. Didn't need to. Others crawled out of their hospital beds for the first time a couple days after surgery. They tended to stay longer.
Michelle Ery 29 Posted June 11, 2017 I've heard 2-3 nights.
MarinaGirl 609 Posted June 11, 2017 I stayed 3 nights, which I was happy about. I was especially glad to have the IV in so I didn't have to worry about or risk dehydration right after surgery. I also had no nausea or pain as it was very well managed in the hospital.
TippyToesX 30 Posted June 11, 2017 I actually just posted this a couple days ago but I guess I posted in the wrong section... But my nurse told me I will most likely be staying over night! My surgery is scheduled for 12:30pm, and I'll probably check out around 8am the next morning. Kind of panicking because I'm not sure that's enough time!!
