LeahF 36 Posted June 9, 2017 I am 9 days post op and yesterday I ate 1 scrambled egg. I'm not suppose to until day 15, but I just can't help myself. I feel so hungry since the first day out. I heard I wasn't suppose to feel hungry ,but my doctor said some people are different, but it's likely head hunger. Does it matter what type of hunger it is the feeling is still the same uugggh how can I make it 5 more days????Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app 1 Honeypenny reacted to this
Joann454 1,329 Posted June 9, 2017 I totally get it. I was hungry too and I was so over the liquid diet. We are all learning. I asked to move to purée because it was to the point I couldn't stomach another shake. How did the egg sit with you? I don't think it's the end of the world because many move to purée as soon as a week. It's best if you stick to your plan though. Forgive yourself and do better. My hunger has actually decreased since I moved to purée. You can do five more days or call your NUT Monday and ask to at least be able to have an egg a day. 4 Honeypenny, LeahF, Justjoan and 1 other reacted to this
OutsideMatchInside 10,166 Posted June 10, 2017 Think about your staple line opening and stomach acid seeping into your chest cavity. The chance of death was the only thing that kept me sane. I went a month total without anything to chew on between pre-op and post-op diet, it will give anyone head hunger. This isn't a normal diet though, this is prescription plan to keep you safe and healthy so you can heal. 8 starfishwish, Honeypenny, LizHenderson and 5 others reacted to this
Apple1 2,572 Posted June 10, 2017 Are you allowed yogurt? I was allowed yogurt during my 2 weeks on liquids post-op. Also well blended creamed Soups really helped to fill me up. You can do this!! 4 cyberdiva, LeahF, Honeypenny and 1 other reacted to this
blizair09 3,250 Posted June 10, 2017 The liquid parts of the journey (pre- and post-op) are among the worst of it, in my opinion. That being said, long-term success is built on consistently making good choices regarding food and drink. And aside from the weight loss, and more importantly, your surgeon has you on a plan to protect your life and allow your stomach to heal. Hang in there. As you can add other types of food, it gets better. But the tough choices every single day will never go away. It has to be a completely new way of life if you want to be successful. Good luck! 5 enngeecee, cyberdiva, Julie norton and 2 others reacted to this

The egg was not as good as I remember, but I didn't have any problem with it in my stomach. I do need to just stick with it ,but it is really hard. I will do better tommorow.Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app 1 Honeypenny reacted to this

Ricanvsg 10 Posted June 10, 2017 Don't worry about I did the same thing too. especially because I couldn't tolerate none of the Protein Shakes it happens. I started getting hungry a week after surgery so I think Is pretty normal until we can adjust our minds & bodies. 2 Honeypenny and LeahF reacted to this

If I use mine that would only be a little over 40 grams. Definitely up your protein and see if that helps. Remember the shakes count toward your daily Fluid intake. 2 LeahF and Miranda.Oil.Nurse reacted to this
travelergirl 142 Posted June 10, 2017 If you are going off plan, eggs sound like a modest Detour.< br>There are so many different plans that people have from the different doctors and eggs are allowed by some. That said trust your surgeon and their plan. Get back on plan and don't beat yourself up.Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app 1 LeahF reacted to this

I did better today with just three Protein Shakes. The hardest part is having to cook for four children and not be hungry if I could avoid food I would do just fine. Today I showered while they ate which helped...Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
vamping 183 Posted June 12, 2017 I'm certainly not telling you to NOT follow your doctor's plan, but if it makes you feel any better, eggs were on my doc's plan immediately post op. I had a little bit of scrambled egg the day after surgery. I found that what got me through the head hunger in the first month was drinking fluids when I thought I was hungry. 2 cyberdiva and LeahF reacted to this

I know you're on a liquid diet still but I came out of the hospital eating eggs so if that was your 'cheat' it's not the end of the world. Hang in there, you've come this far. You can do it. 2 LeahF and cyberdiva reacted to this
