Redmaxx 740 Posted June 9, 2017 Now that I have had my RNY surgery, meet (and exceeded) my surgeon's weight loss goal and am starting to get self conscious about my short comings I am thinking about getting multifocal lens implants http://yaldoeyecenter.com/multifocal-lens-implants. I just turned 50 in February and I have bifocal glasses and hearing aids (due to loud noises on the flight line (when I was in the Army) and I am pretty self conscious about the hearing aids and the bifocals. I know I can't do anything about the hearing aids but I think I can do something about needing glasses. I already tried contact lenses but that didn't work too well. Has anyone had this procedure done and if so are you happy with it? TIA, Phil
shannybananny71 106 Posted June 9, 2017 I use multifocal contacts and you are right, they don't work very well. For me, I will suffer so I don't have to wear glasses. I'm going to check out the multifocal lens implants. 1 Redmaxx reacted to this
Callie60 24 Posted June 9, 2017 I had one eye set for distance and one for close up when I was wearing contacts. When I had my lenses put it, they did them the same way. I can see great at distances and close up although closeup is better. My husband has a multimodal implant that he is not living as much as I do mine, but he also had some astigmatism that need correcting.Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app 1 Redmaxx reacted to this
Newme17 3,444 Posted June 10, 2017 I read the procedure. Isn't any way I'll let someone poke with my eyes. Lol. Hope it works out for you if you decide too. And your not alone, I too, wear hearing aids, or supposed to be. (Those things are just darn expensive), but my loss is from birth. At least they make them better these days than those big bulky ones behind the ears that I had growing up. (My brother flushed his down the toilet the day he got them! Imagine the heart attack my mom had!! Lol) 1 Redmaxx reacted to this
Redmaxx 740 Posted June 14, 2017 I think what I am going to do is get the free consultation in December (along with the price) and set up my flex spending account in January and have it done shortly after that. I hate having bifocals (not to mention hearing aids) and I think it will help with my self esteem.
