Hi everyone. I had my sleeve yesterday and I'm not tolerating any fluids. Feeling nauseous. The pains are so bad. They only giving me 30ml of Water every hour but I haven't done more than 60ml. I have been walking but just not coping. Any advice

Don't hesitate to take pain meds! Ask for something for the nausea. It'll get better.

are you still in the hospital or home? Please know these are the worst days. Sip your Water and hobble/walk. Do a lap or two around your house/room and then rest. The gas that was blown into your abdomen during the surgery is still there, your stomach is recovering from it's trauma.

Are you alone or do you have someone with you? Did you go through any pre-op sessions that discuss your condition post surgery?

You are not alone! I just hit 3 weeks post op. My first two weeks were hell. I had a horrible time taking fluids and I constantly felt sick. Every day gets better! I came on this site often and it helps so much. Everyone is so kind and reassuring. It got me through some hard times, now I'm feeling good and down 17 lbs since surgery , good luck! 😊

No sessions at all, just a consult. Went on a pre-op liquid diet of only clear liquid for a week. My hubby came the last two days but needs to get back to work. Not sure when they going to discharge me.

I am going through the same. My surgery was 6/2, and I had a rough time of it. I couldn't tolerate fluids, I was gagging and wretching. I was in the hospital for 3 nights. Today is the first day I am feeling decent. I still have some nausea, but am keeping liquids down now. I feel a little better each day, I hope you do too [emoji173]️

Update - I'm going to be discharged tomorrow. They gave me some fresh juice (orange and mango mix) and it stayed down. They removed my IV and drip (is that the same thing I don't know) anyway, I walked a lot today and got so tired I slept for 2 hours. Did any of you had your incisions stapled? Did it hurt when they removed it on the 10th day?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
