I have stalled and gained 15 pounds, i exercise 3 times a week and can hardly eat much. Im starting to wonder if my depo shot is to blame. Im 1 year out and have only lost 30 pounds. I have read so many stories about depo shot causing weight gain..has anyone else gone through this?

Hi there, I don't know exactly, but I'm on depo and had surgery in Oct (RNY), I've lost 85lbs since surgery. Things have slowed down the last 6 weeks, but still moving and body changing. I don't exercise very much as I have a two year old to run around after and generally just keep busy. I eat about 1300 cals a day.
My only advise is maybe you're not eating enough as you said you "hardly eat much" and exercise 3 times a week. You could always go off the depo and see what happens. I've been off and on it a couple times and never really noticed a difference. But I'm sure it effects everyone differently. Good luck

I'm on the Depo shot and had surgery last December and have lost a little over 80 lbs. I exercise on my elliptical 5 to 6 days a week, also riding a recumbent bike 3 days a week, and I weight train twice a week. I think that thisisthenewme is right that you may not be eating enough and you may need to increase your Fluid intake and Protein.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
