nikki1405 5 Posted June 5, 2017 So I am getting sleeved on 6/6 which is almost here, and now it has definitely hit me I'm terrified!! I can't sleep!! I'm so worried about every aspect of the surgery!! I'm on day 18 of a liquid only pre op diet and that doesn't even bother me anymore! I'm determined to go through with it I just could really use some words of wisdom! Sent from my SM-J727P using BariatricPal mobile app
losing2live4Him 33 Posted June 5, 2017 I'm not one to shove my belief in God down anyone's throat; but I DO have to say that the only words of wisdom I have are to pray! If that's not your thing, ok. I'll just pray for you! I'll pray He provides you the peace you need to get through the surgery and that He wraps His loving arms around you to comfort you. Good luck on your new journey! JillyT 9 Posted June 5, 2017 Aww, the waiting is the absolute worst. So many days & hours to fill with fearful thoughts. I'm sorry your going through that. I did too. I felt better after watching tons of YouTube videos of people's experiences. Seeing them as they go through all the phases in the hospital then going home etc. helped me mentally prepare. Just keep talking about it & trying to remember to breath. You will get through this & be so relieved and then happy with your decision. Best of luck to you. 1 nikki1405 reacted to this

losing2live4Him 33 Posted June 15, 2017 Tomorrow is my turn! I'm doing RNY, not sleeve, but still...I'm not very nervous about the surgery itself, but I am a bit anxious about the anticipated gas pains afterwards. I'm a whimp when it comes to tummy aches and bad gas! And I HATE passing gas in public. Humiliating!! Sigh. But it will be worth it! Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile appThat's funny because I remember my 1 week post op appt. I was finally passing gas and it felt so good and I kept thinking I don't want to fart in the dr office but after all I've been through, I really don't want to hold anything in. It worked out and didn't have to embarrass myself lol.Sent from my SM-N920T using BariatricPal mobile app 2 ts81096 and losing2live4Him reacted to this

losing2live4Him 33 Posted June 20, 2017 Well, it's official, I worried about passing gas in front of people for nothing! Im alone. My husband really did leave me like he said he would if I had the surgery! He said it may only be for a break "to think about things", but yeah, he left. Didn't even visit me in the hospital or bring me home from the hospital. I'm taking care of mySELF because there is no one else to do it. I sure hope I can come up with some answers before I need to start getting to post op appointments!Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app
Black911 87 Posted June 20, 2017 So sorry to hear and know that you're going through this alone.Your husband is wrong in every way!! He made a vow to you and before God to stand by your side, and he deserted you in your time of need. Easily said than done, but you're probably better off without him if he can up and leave like that without giving it a second thought. HAVING THIS SURGERY IS NOT THE WORST THING IN THE WORLD. YOU ARE MAKING AN ATTEMPT TO IMPROVE YOUR QUALITY OF LIFE.I am praying for your strength and peace of mind. You will get through this.Much love! ~TeResaSent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app 1 losing2live4Him reacted to this
