Boo Boo Kitty's PS Journey

Recommended Posts

I am old timer here and don't know how to see the photos of Plastic surgery patients after surgery...Can anyone help me? I am going in June 26th and need to see the possibilities!

Hi Sandy

My link is

Plastic Surgery Pictures, Videos, Photos, Pics, Before, After, Cosmetic Surgery

But it is a site you want to check out, people post their plastic surgery stories. We rate our Dr's as well so you can see if yours has been rated! Good luck!

I will be updating my pics today on makemeheal.com with my 3 week photos!

Hi BBK,

Glad to hear that the belly button turned out to be a fairly simple, pain-free issue to deal with. Keep the Neosporin on it and it should heal up pretty quickly -- that stuff is amazing.

Have a great day -- you look marvelous darling!

:wink2:

BBK: I'm 3 months post op and I still wear a compression garment when I exercise. I wore one everyday for the first two months and then started to wean myself off. It was more comfortable to wear one, not so many funny feelings in the tummy area. Good luck with everything. Sounds like your coming right along!

Brandy,

I admire your progress and courage so very very much. Was it hard to have your pictures taken (nude) in front of the plastic surgeon? I am older and have much trepidation about this????

Mylapspirit: I had my pictures taken in front of the nurse, the PS wasn't there. That made it a little easier, but it is definetely not that fun. That being said, I'm getting much more comfortable standing nude in front of the doc and nurse, since I have had to it so many times (lots of check ups). It's worth the embarassament!

I know you ask the question of BK---but will chime in with my opinion as well (why not!!!)

I did have mine taken in front of and actually BY the PS himself! He has a blue curtain on the wall in each of his exam rooms, and has the most awesome robes!! He started me in my panties and bra facing him, he took from the shoulders down only--no face in any of the photos.

I began with those on facing him and then he had me drop my panties to under the hanging belly and had me turn in slight incriments like a clock dial around, click----another step around, click-----another step around, click. All the way around. I bet he took 8-10 pictures that way. Then he took one of me holding the belly up from the front and the side. Then he took one of calf muscles-and one of my arm flexed. He said to show in his attempt (successful I might add) to get insurance to pay for it that I was toned everywhere except the belly. It happened that the day we did pictures, I had a skin tear under the belly----and he took several close up shots of that, as well as marking where other thinned skin was, and taking pictures of that.

When I heard from my insurance I found out he had submitted not only the pictures, but 10 pages of documentation and reasons for the medical necessity of the surgery. And the insurance agreed! My total out of pocket ended up being $582.83 so far. Including the co pays to him as we worked up to it. None of my follow up has had any copays or anything.

It was embarassing, but I also knew he was going to operate on me, and wanted him to be well versed with my body and what he was going to do. So when I walked in his door I left my modesty in the car, and reclaimed it when I was done with my appointments!!

It has been SO worth it. Pretend it is someone else, and go for it!!!

Kat

I didn't have to take my photos with the PS which was worse for me. It was some random lady I had just met seconds before. It was bad, but it is part of the process. SO as the ladies said it was well worth it.

Hey BBK,

Looking good :P:thumbup::lol: Your incisions seem to be healing beautifully too! As I told you before, the bustline looks awesome in the photo you put up the other day. After all, for us girls, isn't looking good in clothes what it's all about ?

Mylapspirit, I hated my first few consults, but I agree with all the other ladies, it gets better, and most of these Dr.'s have a terrific way of putting you at ease with the whole process.

I am very comfortable now with the Dr. that I'm working with. In fact last time I had a visit with him, we were in his office having a discussion about how to stage my procedures and without even thinking about it, I suddenly dropped my trousers and grabbed a hunk of fat and said, "Well, what about this? Is this going to drive me crazy until I can have the second surgery?" Without even blinking an eye he came over next to me, grabbed the hunk out of my hands, grabbed onto it himself, and said "Yeah, it will," but then started explaining to me what would be staying and what would be going during the first surgery, how far back the incision would be etc. It was just no big deal.

I realized then that I had gotten to the point to where I really felt no differently talking to him about my body parts than I did the contractor who re-did my kitchen a few years ago. It's all just stuff that needs to be re-done........

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
