Just think of all the time you will save not having to Clean out Belly Button Lint now lol. Plus now you can get a neat tattoo there and no one would even realize it was missing.

Do they have you on a good course of antibiotics for a couple weeks?

Bellybuttons are over-rated! My skin around mine is starting to form a frownie face :(

Dixie I am so glad everything went so well for you. Wow that excess skin sure did weigh a lot. I bet your back is feeling a lot better with it gone. How long do you have to have the drains for? Did the Dr say how long you needed to be off work to recover?

Sherri I am so sorry to hear about what happened to you with that Nurse not listening to you. I can't imagine waking up and not being able to move at all.

I am 61 and on June 26th I will be having breast reduction and FNG. I am scared of the pain I will have and possible complications. I will have 2 surgeons as my girls hang down 10 inches form where they are suppose to be. The Doctors were only willing to do my breasts at this weight. They want me down to 180 before they will remove the excess skin on my tummy. I am hoping with the breast reduction I will be able to stand better despite the 4 herniated discs I have. I also sent you a private message. I haven't seen anyone else on the site close to my starting weight that had Excess skin removal surgeries and I would love to keep in touch with you. Keep us informed as to how you are doing. HUGS

I have 4 drains. They have to stay in until they collect less than 30ml of Fluid for 2 days. Mine are not anywhere close to that. My surgeon is seeing me once a week. My work wanted me to stay home until I no longer had any drains. At the moment we have me down as out for a month. My surgeon said I could go back to work after 2 weeks though. That is just my boss's preference I be out a month.

Good luck to you in your surgery! Keep us updated!

Thank you for sharing your story. My panni is scheduled for June 30. The drains are what scare me. Were you in hospital for one night? I'm scheduled for 23 hours avoiding any complications. It sounds like your experience was very positive.

Best for the rest of your surgeries.

I was in the hospital 2 nights. But I had a high risk of complications. He gave me and over 50% chance of wound complications because of the condition of my skin and medications I was on.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
