WOW!! Congratulations!! That is one heck of a LOT of skin. When I ask my PS how much weight I would lose afterwards, he said "This is by no means a weight loss surgery" I did lose around 7#'s but he removed 10 plus pounds. Everything kind of moved around in there. I tell myself that I am almost 61yo and because of the allergic reaction I had with my Panni I think I am ok here. I had a hernia surgery when I was 6 Yo. I was allergic to the muscle relaxant and was put in an Iron Lung. Tha is real telling of my age. LOl So any way went I went into the hospital I told the Anesthesiolgist that my mom had passed away and I didn't know what the medication was, she told me that she would look up what was used for my RNY surgery. But...she didn't and she used the muscle relaxant that I am allergic to. I spent 8 hours in ICU paralyzed. I came to in recovery not able to open my eyes and she was shocking my temple saying she isn't coming thru. I couldn't MOVE anything!! Because of her I had a tube down my throat and they would not remove it until I was awake. My insureance paid $32,000 because of her not listening to me!! I I did call the patient advocacy and she told me that she would let her Supervisior about it. I have used that hospital since 2013 having my RNY and needing to go back in for my Endoscopes. It really makes me mad!! Now I have the allergy on my ID braclet. This IMO is neglect. I am super duper happy that everything worked out for you!! Take care and keep us posted.

That's so terrible you had such a bad experience!! I could imagine how upset you would be about that! I feel like that is neglect too. [emoji17] I hope you are doing well now!

Thank you!! I definitely love the 15 pound loss haha! I have a few other surgeries I want done when I get to goal that will probably lose a similar amount, especially my thighs. They are horrendous

Thank you everyone. The surgery went very well. I am in a bit of pain now but nothing unbearable.

He removed 15.1 pounds of skin from my stomach!

So happy for you!!! What insurance do you have? Is it hard getting insurance to cover the surgery?

Thank you! I have Aetna. My insurance approved coverage on the first try. I had a lot of rashes underneath the skin though and it hung more than halfway down my thigh. It was the most significant hang my surgeon had seen.

My before and after pics are crazy lol I'm so happy with the results I can see so far. I'm still in the binder so I haven't seen it totally yet. But I can already see there isn't a huge lump of skin hanging off my sides anymore. It's weird honestly to see it go straight!

I couldn't wait until goal. I know I will probably need a revision Tummy Tuck but this was medically necessary for me to get it now unfortunately. I would have loved to wait but it was too much to wait.

Thank you! It's already weird to look down and not have 2 huge rolls fallen to the side of me! I imagine I will have to get rid of more things since a lot of the time my extra skin was all that was holding it up!

Did they give you a belly button?

That was a lot of extra skin. 15 lbs is a burden to carry !
I'm so glad it is over. Hope you feel more "normal" after all the swelling goes down. A bit painful on getting up and down. No?
That was hardest for me

I have no belly button! For most people it's a 20% chance of complication like it dying or getting infected. But for me because of my conditions I had an over 90% chance of it being infected and dying. Not worth the risk!

It was a lot of extra skin! And that's just from my stomata he. I have a lot on my thighs, sides/boobs, and underarms still.

I am glad it's over too! I'm excited to see the final result! It is so strange to me when I just look down that my stomach ends at my thighs instead of extended and spreading over an additional 6 inches!

Getting up and getting down isn't so bad. For me walking is torture. My skin was/is pretty inflamed so my skin burns and hurts a lot. It can be very painful to walk.

I am staying on top of my pain meds though and that is helping me control my pain. The binder helps too!

This is much less painful than I thought it would be *knocks on wood* which gives me hope that I will be able to handle other plastic surgeries. The thighs are my next thing to tackle but I will wait until goal for those.

My surgeon was amazing and I'm so happy I was able to do this!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
