Nessa36 27 Posted June 3, 2017 I have some questions for you women who have already had the sleeve and had kids after the surgery. My name is Vanessa and I am 36 years old and I have always wanted to have kids but my doctors always said that is was not safe to have kids because of my weight. I was 550 lbs. May 2016 and now I am 456 lbs. May 2017. I am still trying to lose more weight. In September I hope to have my sleeve surgery. I want to have a baby but I am not sure if it is safe to get pregnant right away or a couple of months after surgery or 6 to 12 months after surgery? I would love to hear everybody's opinion and helpful information and comments please!! I really want a baby and I feel like my clock is ticking! I have all these crazy feeling and emotions about wanting a baby or babies!! Am I losing my mind or going crazy?! 1 SlimDreams reacted to this
Seattle WLS Newbie 70 Posted June 3, 2017 I was told by my physician to weight at least 12 months after surgery before getting pregnant.

LadyPanic 6 Posted June 3, 2017 My roommate had surgery and 4 month out got pregnant. The baby is now 3 and is semi healthy but was born 5lbs. They say to wait 15-24 months because it can be very dangerous. It's best to just wait and lose the weight and be very careful because you will be super fertile after surgery. I am still pre op. But am planning on getting pregnant as soon as my surgeon and gynecologist gives the ok. Hope any of this bit of info helps. 1 Deactivatedfatgal reacted to this
facebro29 272 Posted June 11, 2017 Because of my age my surgeon said that there's no problem for me to get pregnant after 6 months out. I've waited 9 months and starting IVF soon. Stomach tends to be 100% healed at 6 months out but due to still losing they want you at a stable weight before getting pregnant.
