Had mine on 4/17 doing good and feeling great!! I ride bicycle 30 min and do weights at gym and started on elliptical but can't do much of it lol.. I have a Water bottle to help me get my 64 oz Water in and getting my Protein in first.. I'm in a weight stall right now that sucks but hoping to get back to losing soon... pre surgery wt 270.. surgery wt 263.. now 240

Jen- i'm in a stall too-- will be 2 weeks tomorrow without any movement. I know eventually we'll both keep moving forward, but it's definitely frustrating when the scale isn't moving! Hope you move past your stall soon!

I had VSG 4/17/17 & have lost 44 lbs to date.

HW 278, SW 263, CW 234

I hit a stall from weeks 4-6 and could not get below 240. Finally dropped 6 lbs last week. WHAAAAT! That really encouraged me and made me realize that I will plateau but will need to be a bit more patient and look at how far I have come in a relatively short time.

I walk 2-3 miles daily after dinner. Tracking my food in My Fitness Pal and doing Workweek Fitbit challenges keeps me accountable & helps to motivate me. Add me as your Fitbit pal & we can motivate each other.

I just tried Zumba & love it! Even though I feel awkward and haven't quite got any of the moves down, I am having fun while exercising & looking forward to going twice a week in July. Yes, I am the one who is still going left while everyone is going to the right.

Keep the faith and keep up the good work everyone!
Remember, if you only lose 2lbs a week, that is 100 lbs in a year!
I am sure it took so much longer to gain and the scale does not always tell a true tale. Work hard, stay the course and your efforts will soon be rewarded!

i'm glad you found Zumba and are enjoying it. I've been doing it on & off for the past few years, and it's truly the only form of exercise that i can really say that i enjoy. Like you, I'm often the one going the wrong direction, but it's just so much fun. I will send you a friend request on FitBit. I've been looking for people to connect with on MyFitnessPal that have had surgery and share their food journals. I need ideas for lunches and dinners. Does anyone know of people at our point or further along that shares these? Thank you!

I was sleeved 4/11.
HW. 191.8
SW. 182.4
CW 158.4
Lately its been a very slow process about a pound a week. I feel good and seem to be able to eat just about anything I try with no problems. I had hoped to lose?a bit more at this point (9 weeks out) but I started with a lower BMI and I guess this is the process.
Water and exersice all good.
Any other low Bmi' ers out there????
Would love to see if they are in the same boat as I am with the slow loss

I was sleeved on 4/10/2017. I feel great, haven't had any issues with re-flux, able to drink plenty of fluids with out any issues. Incisions are healing great and no left over surgery pain. I have no issues with eating most foods and take my time eating and chewing; however, I am much hungrier than I thought I would be. Actually, when I hit a stall and actually gained about 4 lbs, I asked my NUT what I might be doing wrong... it appears I was eating too much. I honestly misunderstood my eating instruction sheet. I thought I was up to 1/2 cup per meal. Well... that is not the case. I'm supposed to be at 1/4 cup per meal. Also I was walking regularly until my arthritic knees starting bothering me (although my knees have been feeling great since surgery). I just purchased a stationary bike and working on getting up to speed on that! Now, that I lowered my food intake, I have lost 6 lbs. So, a total of 37 lbs. I'm fine with losing slowly, but I can't wait to get to 1/2 cup and then to 1 cup. I think there will be stalls at every change in the amount of food intake. Just need to look for ways to overcome those stalls.

Everyone is doing great!

4/5 here and down 36 lbs since surgery and almost 45 overall. I'm cleared to eat everything but grains. I'm also cleared to exercise as much as I want. Now that I'm much lighter, I can run a little and do some HIIT workouts. I'm increasing my strength training.
I don't tolerate eggs very well which is fine because I never really liked them anyways. Water can be a challenge. I should be over 64 ounces since I live in the hot AZ desert but I struggle to remember.
The first month was really tough for me and I had buyers regret for a while. I missed food, I missed crunchy things and I missed the family celebrations that came with food. Now, I don't really think about food in the same way. While I spend a lot of time planning food out, it's not with the same obsession as before. Most of the cravings are gone. Potato chips are my one hold out. I don't allow them in the house because I will seek them out.

Hi there! I'm in north Phoenix and just thought I'd say hi since you're in AZ too. I was sleeved at the end of Dec. I also am struggling to get in all my water but am working on it before the super hot weather hits. I tried to add pistachios for some crunch but ended up eating the whole bag over the course of 2 days so clearly I don't have enough self control for that! Good luck on your journey and drop me a line anytime.

I'm definitely with you. I had a starting bmi of 43. SW 202 HW 220 CW 179. I lost 10# the first week and then 13# in the last 8 weeks. I guess I have to think about that it's still almost 2# /wk, which isn't too bad. I could never have done that before surgery. We just can't compare ourselves to the people who are losing that in a day because it's still a loss of more than 10% in about 2 months. Progress, not perfection!

I bring leftovers, chicken/tuna/egg salad, lunch meat and cheese roll ups, and my new favorite is a tuna pouch mixed with a small cup of guacamole and diced tomatoes. My favorite to go meals are a bunless smothered cheeseburger, bunless grilled chicken sandwich, Chik Fil A grilled chicken nuggets or chili.

I was sleeved 4/21 and weighed 204.8 on surgery day. Today, 180. I haven't lost weight for three weeks now. I'm so frustrated and honestly kind of down in the dumps about it.

I was sleeved 4/4/17, HW 292, SW 250 CW 211, I've made slow but steady progress, really aiming for that 200 mark. Feel so much better. I've really stuck to my doctors nutrional guidelines. I prepare all of my food ahead of time in small containers much easier for me to eat in proportion. Good luck to everyone.

I am feeling good so far, I do have my moments though. I can't do Protein Shakes, they make me sick. My latest problem is really bad breath. Looked it up and saw a lot of things about ketosis?? Anyone know anything about this?? Don't need my husband complaining anymore about it.....

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
