I was sleeved on 5/26. The gas pains have somewhat subsided. As of yesterday I realized Im able to take in more fluids while walking (sounds crazy) but its amazing. When its time to drink my Protein shake....I walk around the house and can drink half in about mins!!! Im having a hard time with mushy foods. Nothing tastes good for now. Hope this helps for those struggling with fluids.

I was sleeved on the same day! Hello sleeve twin!

I have found the same thing - it's sooo much easier to drink my Protein Shakes if I walk around while I do it.

Good luck!

Holy moly @jacqueline5678 and @Belle_Mimi i was sleeved on the 26th by Dr. Hart as well. Walking really helps getting Water to go down. I am pretty much only ingesting Protein Shakes and water since I can't hold much else.

Good Luck on your journey!

Hi! I think I'm at about 17 lbs down, but I'm not completely sure because my surgeon has scolded me not to check my weight until my 6 week follow up. I did sneak a peek at the gym a few days ago, though. Haha - it's impossible not to! How about you?

Thanks, you too! 21 pounds is amazing! That gym thing is not as impressive as it sounds. He cleared me for cardio only and the first time I went back to the gym, I nearly passed out after 20 minutes on the stationary bike. Haha. So, I'm going, but I'm just walking, biking really slowly, etc. it's incredibly unimpressive!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
