How long were you off work for the entire process, surgery and post op?

Thank you

I took off two weeks and 2 days. Had surgery on a Thursday April 13 and went back to work May 2nd. (My office was closed the day I was suppose to have gone back due to Tornados and no power.).

I am off for two and a half weeks... my first day off was a Weds and I spent that day flying to San Diego and doing pre-op testing in Mexico... next day was surgery and I returned home late Saturday so 4 days for surgery and 2 weeks to recover. Honestly I have another week left off and I feel like I could go back now but I'm going to enjoy my last week.

I was supposed to be out for 5 days, however I choose to add an additional 5 days.

My surgery was May 8th and I am going back to work on Tuesday the 30th. I originally thought I would only be out a week...turned into 3. It's all good thought because I am feeling really good.

Did anyone take off less time? I am having surgery on a Wednesday and was planning to return to work the following Monday.

I have a mostly sedentary job but end up raking up ~10k steps from 9-5 walking around my office building.

I took 3 weeks off, in addition to the sleeve I had my gall bladder removed and a hernia repair at the same time. I could have gone back earlier but I was getting full pay so I took advantage of it.

I had my surgery on May 15th and will go back on the 30th so two weeks. Honestly I probably could have gone back to work this week, but I was glad to have the time to adjust to my new eating habits at home. As I have gotten my Protein amounts up my energy has gotten even better so it was a win win for me.

I took a week. I have a desk job and not a big office at all (a few steps here and there), but even in the week I was pretty tired for two or three of those days. All the walking you will be doing is great, but have expectations of possibly being very tired. Blessings on your journey!

I'm a desk jockey like you. Surgery was on Tuesday, released from hospital Wednesday. Back to office Monday, but worked a reduced schedule in the office. ( I can work from home). So those first two weeks, I split three days in office, two days at home.

I took off for six weeks after my surgery. My fatigue issues were severe through 8 weeks post-op, so I'm glad that I did. (I took a get-in-the-bed nap every afternoon for those six weeks!) Physically (aside from the fatigue), I was better after 2 weeks, but I used that time to devote myself 100% to my Protein and Water goals, advancing through the food stages, and walking. It was time well spent.

I would recommend taking as much time as your personal, professional, and financial situations will allow.

Good luck!

I have a sedentary job too. I sit behind a desk most of the day and still took 2 weeks. And when I went back I wish I had taken the 3 week. I was ok in the mornings but around noon I'd hit a wall and would be useless. Plus struggling to eat and drink was time consuming.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
