You will be sorry if you don't. Sent from my LGMS428 using BariatricPal mobile app You're right, she won't last 2 hours..she's going to last 8! I have surgery Thursday and back to work Monday. Every case is different, job, movement, empathy from employers etc. I'm also in a situation where if I don't work I don't get paid. There are no replacements for my position that can "take over" while I'm gone either. My mortgage isn't going to pay itself. I won't feel guilty if I make it home and spend all night on the couch/bed, but work has to be done or I wont have a couch/bed to heal in, feel me? 5 kmmschaefer, Atslady, JCKlgl123 and 2 others reacted to this
Judybaby9 0 Posted June 19, 2017 DedicatedLady, First, I'm not your enemy so I don't know why you jumped off on me. Second, her struggle may not be your struggle and I'm sorry you have a job that doesn't pay medical leave or short term disability. Third, what I told her was for her own benefit because if she pops a staple she'll miss more than 2 weeks out of work, and so will you. Take it easy and allow yourself time to heal. I am having surgery on a Wednesday and was planning to return to work the following Monday. I have a mostly sedentary job but end up raking up ~10k steps from 9-5 walking around my office building. I also work 9-5 in an office setting. I was planning to take one week off work. I'm hoping that is enough time.
Once Upon a Sleeve 24 Posted November 9, 2017 From everything I’ve read, going back to work too early means you risk popping a staple and causing a leak. Having a leak could a week or more in the hospital. So even if you don’t have any sort of sick leave, going back early against doctor’s orders is a calculated risk. If you do, and you end up hurting yourself on the job, I think both Workers Comp and Disability could use your decision against you if you apply for benefits. Of course, if you don’t get benefits, then it’s a different analysis. 1 UndercoverDiet reacted to this
sc09 95 Posted November 11, 2017 I also work 9-5 in an office setting. I was planning to take one week off work. I'm hoping that is enough time. I work in an office setting and took two weeks. After I went back I wish I had taken the 3rd week like most recommended. Around 1 I was useless and had absolutely no energy. It’s also hard to get back in the swing of things when your having to remember to drink fluids and trying to get all your work done. I wound up working 2 full days that week and by Wednesday decided to work half days and then took that Friday off (it’s a four hour work day anyway). I was exhausted that entire week. 1 UndercoverDiet reacted to this
