MissMeowsy 23 Posted May 27, 2017 Hi. I'm ten days out after a VGS. I spent 4 days in the hospital due to complications. My lungs were congested at first, due to an underlying lung/blood disorder. After that, my blood sugar fell through the floor and I had to drink juice and eat glucose paste to bring it up. I was pre-diabetic, almost type-2 diabetic. All that time, I was on an IV with lactated ringers (regular IV drip to hydrate). On Thursday, my 8th day, I was supposed to start the puréed/mushy food stage, which would last for 2 weeks. I cannot get food down because it hurts so much and am having trouble getting my Protein Shakes down, too. I should be eating 3 a day, and have trouble with one. I know what I should be eating, but I'm not sue how much - is a tablespoon okay 10 days out? I'm not hungry, but feel as though I should follow the plan given. It's almost impossible to get the shakes down. How can I overcome this? Thank you so much! My HW was 269My SW was 244My CW is 230, I think (scale is wonky)=^..^=
Joann454 1,329 Posted May 27, 2017 Call your Dr. I'm on five days out and can easily get my shakes down. Yogurt is a breeze. Water no problem. Vitamins easy as well. Maybe I'm not normal. Idk. It's still concerning enough that I think you should call. Feel better. 1 Justjoan reacted to this
