I had my sleeve done on Oct 18, 2017. BEST DECISION EVER. I am almost a new person. The things I can do now that I couldnt before such as drive without the steering wheel on my stomach, tie my shoes without being out of breath, walk up stairs without hurting, play with my son. These are just a few things I can do now. So far I have lost a total of 110lbs! The only loose skin I have is my arms but it's always been like this. Working out to tone them up as much as possible!!! Guys what's your story.

Congratulations! You're doing awesome and so glad to hear about those things that you can do now that you couldn't do before. I can totally relate... I couldn't tie my shoes before, among many other things.

Keep up the awesome work! :)

8 months out and I am down 56 lbs. I have 20 more to go for goal. I bought a swimsuit tonight at academy and it only took me 20 minutes. Big NSV for me. Bottoms are 10 and top is 14. Of. course I have flabby arms and thighs but granddaughter won't care when we are at the pool together. Yea all of us!

That's amazing news! It gives me hope! My surgery date is June 12 and I'm constantly nervous about failing and not losing weight. I love these success stories. There are so many things I can't do now. I really look forward to be able to do the little thing. Walk up stairs, fit in the chairs at the sports stadium, buy clothes that don't have to be ordered online, go outside without sweating. I hope I have your kind of success!

Transitioning from lapband to bypass on June 12!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
