Joann454 1,329 Posted May 26, 2017 I think I know the answer but yogurt and pudding are allowed on the full liquid portion part of my diet (which I'm on now). I don't see cottage cheese under either purée or full liquids. Any chance it's a full liquid?
nettajlong 12 Posted May 26, 2017 I didn't have it until full liquid, but everyone is different. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app 1 ts81096 reacted to this

Joann454 1,329 Posted May 26, 2017 I feel like it's at least purée. I'm going to ask. I can't believe I want to eat it. Four days post op lol
redfire_angel75 62 Posted May 26, 2017 According to my Nutritionist you can have cottage cheese on the liquids phase, but it's got to be mixed with a liquid (I use Fairlife Fat Free milk because of the 13g Protein and lactose free), blended and put through a mesh strainer. The liquid must be no thicker than a milk consistency and be able to roll off of your spoon. They recommended mixing it with low-fat cream Soups. We are able to mix fat free sugar free pudding powder into our Protein Shakes for extra flavor

PatientEleventyBillion 851 Posted May 26, 2017 (edited) I went straight to full fluids, after doing clear fluids at the hospital. I had yogurt drinks, unsweetened applesauce, milk, tons of Water, and took my meds with tiny amounts of apple juice (like less than 10mL). If they've already done leak tests/barium swallow on you to verify your digestive parts are working correctly (which I'm pretty sure a clear Fluid diet goes into, they need to see you can drink water/eat ice chips without leaks or complications), I don't get why they wouldn't pass you immediately to full fluids. Puree.. you probably want to wait a week or two after surgery. For puree I had beans/melted block cheese, oatmeal, meat sauce (i.e. Ragu), and still had a few things from full fluids. Did that for a few more weeks and went on to soft solids and then normal. Edited May 26, 2017 by PatientEleventyBillion
Apple1 2,572 Posted May 26, 2017 Some doc/nuts are very conservative. My plan had me on clear fluids for the first week after surgery. Second week full liquids, third week puréed. I am three days from my third week and I have incorporated a few puréed foods with zero issues. I am eating well blended creamy Soups and cottage cheese. 2 Joann454 and Mrcvsg reacted to this

I hate chicken broth and have no other warm/savory options. I'm eating a Dannon light & fit Greek toasted coconut vanilla. Yummy! I'll survive, just craving cottage cheese. redfire_angel75 62 Posted May 28, 2017 It's not oatmeal, but according to my Nut we can have thinned cream of wheat with some unflavored Protein Powder, cream Soups mixed with either cottage cheese or tofu. Just make sure you put it through a fine mesh strainer and make sure it's no thicker than milk.
