I hear Vitamin e oil helps along with dry skin brushing. From my personal experience try some collagen supplements and moisturize like crazy! I also take fish oils they seem to help somewhat. I work out also and it doesn't seem to make a difference. I have lots of muscle but it's under loose creepy skin.

Pardon my ignorance but what's creepy skin? Is it a nickname for loose skin or something else?

It was a movie from 1964 directed by and starring Vic Savage. The plot involves a slug-like monster terrorizing an American town after escaping from a crashed spaceship. Oh wait, sorry that was the Creeping Terror.

I think she meant Crepey skin. Like the skin on very old people's arms when they have lost all the fat and there's nothing filling out the extra skin.

After RNY surgery 4 years ago, the skin on my face became very wrinkled. It made me look like I was 100 years old with very fine paper-like wrinkles. My wife suggested I use a product called BioOil [available a CVS, Walmart and other stores]. So I followed her advice and put a dab of oil on my face each morning. And the problem no longer exists.

Ooh! Ok that makes sense. I expect this to happen to me too. Yay! At least I have a fun name for it now.

there's really not a lot you can do about it other than plastic surgery. Some people claim their fat shifted around after their weight stabilized, and they started to look a bit better, though....

Increasing Water intake helps reduce this problem for some people. I try to drink 80 oz or more a day. Don't always get there, but my skin isn't a crepey as some people and I've lost a little over 150. My doctor still advises me to increase fluids tho.

I think you are correct, drinking all my fluids has been my biggest problem. Prior to surgery I drank at least 80oz with no problem. Now I'm lucky to get in 36oz. Not using a straw is making it difficult for me.. any suggestions?!?

I would ask your doctor about straws. My doctor cleared me to use straws after two weeks. The concern was swallowing air, creating more gas in the abdomen which was just pumped full of gas and causes discomfort right after surgery. I've not once had an issue and I'm five months out. I agree, I get my liquids in much easier with a straw.

That's a lot of water! Just one question are you over 50? I'm thinking it's an age thing. If I had the surgery 10 years ago I think my skin might be better.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
