Surgery on Monday - not feeling full

Recommended Posts

I'm trying not to go too fast or hard but i am reaching 64 no problem. I'm worried what this will mean going forward.

The only things bothering me is some gas in my chest but walking helps and having my husband pat my back helps.

I'll address this with my doc when I do my follow up, but I wondered about any thoughts before then. Worried I won't feel full ever and will over eat.

Also it's definitely stomach hunger and not head hunger. Stomach rumbling and limited calories.

Thoughts? Anyone else experience this?

My surgery was on Monday 5/22/17 and I can only get down about 2 oz then I'm feeling over full

So weird. Sleeved same day. I'm getting down 64 oz easy.

Weird! I mean, I don't have the same "full" feeling as I did before surgery, but I also don't feel hungry. I just weigh and measure.

I still have mental cravings, but I guess I don't feel like I even have my stomach missing. Lol idk what I was expecting. I guess I figured there'd be more of a struggle for the first few days.

I know exactly what you mean! I thought I would feel so different but I have to remind myself all the time because I don't really feel different and I still battle the same food demons I did before. I don't feel hungry, but I don't really feel full either, so it leaves me feeling like I want to keep eating until I feel something. So far I haven't done that. I don't plan on it either. I think I just thought the struggle in the beginning would help me cement some better habits, but I haven't had a struggle, so I have to work on healthy habits all by myself. Good luck!

Weigh, measure and track everything that goes into your mouth.
I'm 4 months out. Never had any feelings of restrictions the first few months after surgery. BUT my surgeon explained to me that the nerves in my new tummy were in shock and not able to signal that tummy is full. That's why it's so important to know how much is going in. Yes I have wanted to eat till I was sick to just know that my sleeve was working. I didn't/haven't so far ;) For me, weighing or measuring helps me to know this is the portion that I am suppose to have. I've noticed this last month that if I eat to fast or to much I get the hiccups. Still figuring out the dense Protein and veggies. Just because my plan now says to eat 4 oz at a time doesn't mean my new tummy agrees with that.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
