HELLO, Has anyone out there been banded at Faulkner hospital, Boston ma?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone this is my first post. MY husband and I are both being banded in October. My surgery is on the 16th and my husbands is on the 30th. We are both very excited about our new journey together. We were wondering if anyone had their surgery done in Boston, ma. We both have enjoyed this site and we would like some feed back.

THANKS:dog::dog:

My surgery was done 10/1 in boston, but at Tufts New England Medical Center. I had a cervical discetomy there in the past, and felt very comfortable there again this time. Very competent and wonderful staff and physicians.

I don't know much about Faulkner though, so this is probably not of much help to you.

Did you go through a program at Faulkner?

HI, thank's for responding Jena. Faulkner Hospital is part of Brigham@Women's Hospital of Boston. I have a lot of confidence in my doctor. His name is Dr. Tavakkolizadeh. He is in the same group with Dr. Ashley Vernon, Dr. Lutz and Dr. Robinson. I was just curious to see how anyones experience was. Thanks again for responding.

Thanks,

Sandy:)

Hello and good luck....I was banded at Beth Israel in Boston. You should check the Massachusetts thread. There may be someone that has been there.

      Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
      What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

      I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
