Just wondering what everyone on here orders for coffee from Dunkin' Donuts? I am 5 months post op going to visit family and I hate black coffee! I get a super skinny latte with sugar free flavor from my coffee shop at home! Thanks for any advice!

Sorry, I haven't touched coffee since 1991. Too much coffee in the desert. All we had was warm/hot Water to drink so we figured we might as well drink coffee. Too much.

I was just on their website last week trying to figure that out. I know their original hot or iced coffee is fine, and you can get it with or without artificial sweeteners and milk, cream or half & half. It seems all their flavor shots have a ton of sugar, though, and that sucks. And their specialty drinks are WAY high in carbs.

Every doctor is different. I was allowed coffee right after surgery, with artificial sweeteners and/or a small amount of half & half/cream. No other Creamers, though, and only 1-2 cups a day.

I haven't tried it yet but it's been recommended to me to use a half of a vanilla Protein Shake in place of cream and that will also give it the sweetness.

I waited the 9 months and drink coffee with Creamer now with no issues. Normally just 2 a day. I gave up coffee a few months prior to surgery so went through withdrawal then...instead of waiting till surgery. It can be tough to give up headaches and no energy! I had gastric bypass it might not matter with sleeve.

I always find it so interesting how various programs/doctors can be soooo different in what you can/cannot have. My program says no caffeine because it is a natural diuretic and the biggest risk with this surgery is dehydration. So I've been off caffeine prior to my surgery.

My Dad had a type of Bariatric surgery over 40 years ago. His surgery removed quite a bit of his intestines but nothing was done to the stomach. There was no dietician involved back then, just eat and then everything passed through quickly. So he continued to drink coffee and iced tea post-surgery. He died three years ago after being on dialysis for 7 years. Although none of his doctors ever said what caused the kidney failure, I rather be safe than sorry.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
