Two days post op, I'm serious fricking pain now lol. Can't sleep much, just very sore.

Uh oh! Pain meds must've been doing more than you thought. Just take it easy & don't over do it. Keep walking though. I'm not far behind.

You got it lol. I'm ok though, walking helps oddly. It's tender where they made the incisions. This is normal. Feels like I had the workout of my life lol

i was in a similar position. the day after i was wearing shorts and a tshirt and walking around and felt pretty good. By the end of the day i realized the injections they put in my abdomen for pain had filtered out, and the IV was drugs were out, and then it really hit me. Did quite a bit of napping for two days after that. Slept for about 12 hours a day. THen after 4 days felt much better.

Ha. That's what happened to me. I was on fentanyl and felt GREAT. Yeah let's go jogging. Woohoo. That wore off and I was oh so sore. Day 5 and much better. Each day truly got a bit better I haven't had pain meds for a few days and it's ok.

Yes!!! I slept all day today lol. Sweet relief! Thank you for sharing that, I was beginning to feel down about my constitution, glad I'm not the only one whose had to sleep tons.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
