To all the people who say "this is the easy way out." You are all full of crap!

This has been hard for me. However, I would not change a thing. I am healthier. The results surpassed every diet and weight loss trick I tried over 5 years. It is a personal choice. There are risk. Make the decision for yourself. Your body your life! Cheers to your success!

The correct answer to that is 'Go f**k yourself'.

Ok, so I'm full of crap and I am going to f**k myself and someone loves this.

I took the easy way out and I don't care if someone has a problem with that. ;)

No he was not saying that to you, that is what he would have said to the person.

Yes, but I'm saying this is the easy way out - so I'm one of these people as well.

The difference is: I don't think it's wrong to go this way, on the contrary I think it's perfectly fine to arrive at a point where one considers WLS the next logical step.

It is most definitely NOT the easy way out. If someone breaks their leg, does getting it set and having a cast put on it 'the easy way out'? No, it is the medically correct thing to do, just like seeking WLS is the medically correct thing to do if you are to the point you will die due to your weight. Not the easy way out though, the easy way out is to keep eating like **** until you die.

I think there is something to this .. . I know if I watch Skin Tight I always listen to the back story to find out if they had surgery or not. I can honestly say when they say they did it without, I am very impressed. That's not to discount those who had surgery because I know either way its hard... but just a little harder without surgery. Actually I think its a lot harder. My wife has been trying to lose weight "naturally" and we often get into discussions about the process. I try to tell her what I do but I know in the back of my head that she doesn't have the luxury of not feeling hunger and not filling up quickly.

Not to discount what we are doing at all, but I think the hardest part will be transitioning to a positive healthy lifestyle that will last the rest of my life.

Not everyone has hunger go away after surgery. I'm constantly fighting the hunger both physical and head hunger. I have to make an effort every second of everyday to not give in to it. There has been nothing about this process that has been easy. It's really just a tool
that only works as well as the operator knows how to use it.

Surgery isn't easy, but it is the easiest I have ever lost weight. Once you get past the initial healing, it is basically effortless for months.

If you don't tell people you had surgery you don't have to hear their dumbass comments.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
