mbuczkowski 272 Posted May 23, 2017 I was sleeved Feb 7, 2017. In efforts to capitalize as much as I can in the 1st year, I started really working out. I walk 5-10mi/day. My speed was 23min/no. Now it's 17min/no.In efforts to keep the muscles I had carrying around the old weight, I started to carry a frame pack with 25lbs of kitty litter. What are you all doing to get the weight off? Only monitoring the food? Did you pick up new hobbies?Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app 4 madface, Newme17, Ldyvenus and 1 other reacted to this
OutsideMatchInside 10,166 Posted May 23, 2017 Walking along with the usual weighing all my food and tracking. I used to walk with weights until I injured myself. Not worth it for me, an injury sets you back. And my Dr friend told me off about doing. It isn't really necessary. I maintained my muscle by eating 1 gram of Protein for 1 pound of lean muscle mass, every day. I've lost 180 pounds and only 10 of that has been muscle. I still have 125 pounds of lean mass. Soon that 25 lbs will be nothing. Good for you hon. I prefer to weight lift to maintain my muscle, just as soon as I'm cleared. Keep at it! 2 Ldyvenus and mbuczkowski reacted to this
mbuczkowski 272 Posted May 23, 2017 I actually do a 5 mi walk in the AM and weights at the gym after work. But REI just opened near me. I plan to hike part of the Apalacian Trail later this Year. So, I figure incorporating weights with walking are good training. Also, the more muscle, the faster the fat burnSent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app 1 Newme17 reacted to this

Crafty-in-Carolina 138 Posted May 28, 2017 I am loving yoga now. I do some sort of walking/jogging, yoga, and/or interval training each week and actually enjoying it. Last summer I struggled thru some hiking on vacation. This year I'm actually looking forward to it. Life is good. Love the kitty litter idea.... very resourceful. 1 mbuczkowski reacted to this

mbuczkowski 272 Posted June 21, 2017 Managed an 8+ mi hike with my 30lbs pack on Sun. The Mon and Tues were 4+ mi with pack. I question how my legs were able to carry me before when I was 65 lbs heavierSent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app
