11:10am so they're running behind. So I'm just laying here waiting. Received another needle this time in my thigh for medicine to prevent blood clots.

Now I have something running through iv. Once bag finishes they'll take me to bathroom to empty bladder.

It's 12:10pm and I'm still waiting. The iv is being run through vein in the bend in my left arm so I have to keep it straight. Of course I keep forgetting and end up bending it.

I've gone to the bathroom once and they gave me another bag of fluids to do.

Mom is here. She posted a pic of me in hospital telling everyone I'm having surgery on fb. Once again confirmation not to tell anyone. Sigh.

Well the nurse checked and apparently there's an emergency surgery going on since this morning in the room I'm assigned. Normally they would find another room for me but the surgeon performing the emergency surgery is my doctor.

Nurse said I should be going in around 1:30

Just saw dr. Signed consent for blood if necessary. They're prepping the room now. Will see anesthesiologist next.

Ok I'm going in and out of consciousness. Even started falling asleep writing this. I feel surgery went good. Nurse said u can hardly see my cuts already. Minimal pain. No nauseous yet. Still gotta get up and walk but I'm so tired. They got the bottom half of my legs wrapped in this cloth that fills up and released automatically. It's to prevent blood clots. I believe.

So sleepy. It's 6:05pm

I'm going to be following your progress! You're the first person I've found that has had a similar mindset as myself for this. Good luck with everything! Thank you for giving a play-by-play! It helps more than you can imagine!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
