Mix it up!! Your body has adjusted to your routine!! Add exercises you do not usually do!! Cute carbs further or add veggies/protein in a different combo. Get your Protein in after one hour awake to boost metabolism!!! Water? ?? Follow your program but mix it up!!

I was stuck for a while in 190's but I increased Protein intake and hit cardio kind of hard. So my body started to shrink and numbers moved slowly. So, I learned to focus on results I can see. I can't see 3 lbs that I've lost but I can see the inches off my waist and arms n thighs and that my clothes were becoming huge. The scale is a monster sometimes don't let it be your focus. Follow your diet, when u are cleared to exercise do it with a purpose. 150 will come. I didn't even think I would see 170, lol but it had come n gone. Stay focused n work hard. You will be so proud of the end result physically and mentally.

You are so right! The scale is a monster. I put do much focus on it. Even though I feel it coming off. I need to do more cardio and up my Water intake. Thank you so much. I will go back and read your words of encouragement to keep me going.

Hi ... I waited until about 2 months before I started doing exercises. I did cardio 4 times week on my elliptical mostly n that really boosted the fat loss. I'm starting strength training now but I did nothing really to my stomach until maybe my 3rd or 4 th month then I started crunches n planks n then my son gave me a workout guide for abs about a month or so ago n I started it as well.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
