shan0520 241 Posted May 21, 2017 Today I am 2 months + 1day past my operation. I am down 55 lbs. But this journey is more than just the weight loss. This journey is about rediscovering myself. For the last 9yrs I have hid myself in the roles of being a wife and a mother. The heavier I got, the less I did. I became a bystander to my life. And worse, to my kids life. This surgery has given me my courage back. My confidence. My sense of a adventure. The day I had my surgery I started walking and have not stopped. Today I walked my 1st 5k. And I signed up for 2 more this summer. I cannot believe I am a 5k'er. I went in to this surgery thinking I would lose weight and get healthier. I never considered I would find myself along the way! 14 Justjoan, mary12, Berry78 and 11 others reacted to this

shan0520 241 Posted May 21, 2017 @mom2tess Thank you! And your 50lbs is amazing! I have been following my Protein and Water goals. I started walking 3-4 days a week slowly adding more to my route.I also do aerobic exercises every other day. I know aerobics is so 80s, but it seems to be helping me out. 1 Newme17 reacted to this

shan0520 241 Posted May 22, 2017 What are your Protein and Water goals? Do you keep track of carbs? My protein is 70grams (I usually hit 60-65). My water is 64oz. I do not keep track of my carbs. But I don't have many. I think I'm allowed 20 a day, but i prob get maybe around 10. 1 Dametris reacted to this

mom2tess 28 Posted May 22, 2017 Thanks for getting back-to me. I think I need to increase my Protein and Water intake. That is going to be my goal this week. I've been at a style for a couple of weeks. Perhaps this will help 1 shan0520 reacted to this
