KatePenny 2 Posted May 21, 2017 I'm almost 3 weeks post op. I have lost about 21 lbs. since the day of my surgery. However, the past four or five days, I haven't lost any weight. Is it possible to have a weight loss stall this early? I get so worried and nervous that this isn't going to work now that I'm actually eating real food and not the liquid stage. Is a stall this early normal? 1 Mynewlife4me reacted to this
LSanchez238 52 Posted May 21, 2017 I had the same problem, I'll give a link to the info im about to give, but you hit a stall because your body isn't getting enough calories yet. So, your body starts storing rather than burning because it goes into starvation mode. I'm a month and 2 days out, I have been losing weight like crazy this past week because I'm starting to hit between 1000 and 1200 calories a day. https://www.mexicobariatriccenter.com/not-losing-weight-after-gastric-sleeve-surgery/Sent from my Z981 using BariatricPal mobile app 3 Newme17, mschan218 and KatePenny reacted to this

Is a stall this early normal? Yup. Same happened to me. Don't be discouraged! Your body is trying to adjust. The weight will start falling off after this. Just stick to the plan, drink Water, take the Vitamins. Good luck! 2 Newme17 and KatePenny reacted to this

Maxthecat 37 Posted May 21, 2017 I had RNY and am just about 3 weeks post op. Lost 16lbs the first two weeks and nothing for the past week. It sucks being patient but everyone says this happens and to wait it out. Good luck. I hope your stall ends soon! 1 KatePenny reacted to this
itzpokie 3 Posted May 21, 2017 I am hitting week 3 and only lost 10 lbs so I am also losing slowly. I have read a lot about the 3 week stall so not really sure what's going to happen now. We all have to make sure we are getting in Protein and fluids and the rest will follow even if it's slower. Hang in there. 1 KatePenny reacted to this
