I hate the WW commercials...eating big giant tacos, chips, cake, Oprah promoting how much she loves bread....that u can eat anything you want blah blah blah...how about promoting balance and exercise and a good nights sleep and food in moderation. I had a boss that did that program..it's on a point system and he figured out if he saved enough points he could have more than one lite beer....I mean all it teaches you is how to get around the system to get what u want...the sleeve is a serious life change and if your not gonna be serious than WW is perfect [emoji108]

I lost all respect for weight watchers ( and Oprah)when they let Oprah get on TV and say she eats bread everyday and loses weight. That was some dangerous info.
You do not lose weight by stuffing your face with all things that are bad for your body no matter how many points you count. Personally I think that is a stupid way to change, eating habits.
True weight loss success starts with learning what is in the food you are eating. Clean non processed whole foods, fruits, veggies, fish, seafood, chicken, meats, all with no preservatives are what fuels your body.
Be an avid label reader. I am so obsessed on labels.
Stay away from wheat products and refined sugars, eat when you are hungry and add intermittent fasting.
No Oprah, you might be losing some pounds but I can bet they will be back with a vengeance in a few years. As much as Oprah wants to lose weight, she does not want to give up the comfort she gets with food or else shd would have had wls. I suspect she has a eating problem relating to internal issues.
We have all been there. We know the demons of overeating. We have watched it ruin our health, lose our mobility, and even taken lives. We stood up and said, no more. Food will not rule our lives. We took control, we risked our lives with surgery to have a chance at a better and healthier life. And for that I applaud all of you in this journey. We stand proud to say, "no I don't need to eat bread and Cookies everyday to be happy. I am proud of what I put in my body and how I care for it."
I shall now step down from the soapbox. ..thank you for the applause...please clap for yourself!!! Thank you, thank you very much....

WW is in the profitable weight loss industry and keeps switching the programs every couple of years to make you think they discovered something new that finally has the answer to losing weight. When they made fruit 'free' (because no one is overweight from eating fruit) they messed up - it made weight loss come to a screeching halt for so many people and raises insulin response esp when eaten alone. I thought the core program came closest to the best program and had success with it until I stopped being honest about my food intake. WW is lousy at helping break plateaus or even analyzing why you stop losing even if you are following the program, but they are good at selling you products and leaders are pushed into being salesmen. I am sure Jean Nidetch never had all that in mind when she just wanted to help women lose weight. The original program was a lot like the diabetic exchange program and restricted statchy carbs - weight loss was very steady on that system - I remember it well lol, hated hated that required 4oz of liver I had to choke down weekly but 5 fish meals a week was/is still good advice. All in all the long term stats are in line with most other programs. $$$$$$

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
