Hot tea is WONDERFUL!

Recommended Posts

I just got my UPS shipment from Twining's today, with my six different types of tea. Love, love, LOVE the Prince of Wales blend. I'll have to try the others tomorrow, since I got some that I hadn't had before.

I just got that powdered peanutbutter today, PB2. That stuff is GREAT! I added 1/2 serving to my chocolate Matrix and it was GREAT. Not sure I'd want a full serving in there but half was wonderful. I'll be sending you some via snail mail.

Ok.. in respect to this.. I have read on here several times about hot tea/soup/etc 'opening' you.

I've never tried it..

But I have tried to sabotage myself the other way around. I try to drink iced tea before a meal in hopes of 'shrinking' it.

LOL.

I think it's from my months of lack of restriction.. but it's become habit. Does it work this way? I can't say I honestly notice if it's done anything or not, but based on the logic of heat opens it, seems like cold should.. shrink it.

SHRINKAGE.. ever see that episode of Seinfeld ;)

I like being too tight to get certain things down, keeps me in check.

For me it's just like Seinfeld... sometimes. Anything cold and spasms kick in and nothing goes down. Yet other times if I am stuck and foaming cold SoBe works wonders. It makes no sense.

It opens me up. I can't eat anything comfortably in the morning without having something hot first.

Tea recommendation, for anyone interested: Adagio Teas, available at Adagio Teas.

They've got tons of teas available. If you can dream it, they have it. And the best thing is that they have sample-size tins of each one available.

Tea just has a soothing effect on me. Whenever i feel nauseated, or that tight feeling in the morning i just drink some hot tea and it feels so much better afterwards.

Gahhhh... tea is nasty. Tastes like something that didn't taste good to begin with just watered down. Wish I liked it, but I don't.
It really depends on the type of tea. Some teas are completely nasty (I tried a green tea today that literally tasted like liquid grass), but some are really good. There are so many different types of teas, different blends, flavors, strengths, etc., that you just have to try a bunch to see what your tastes are.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
