Kami63 215 Posted October 6, 2007 I know how you feel. I am being banded on 10/17 and I have only two kinds of days at this point: days where I am scared to death about what I am about to do, and days where I cannot wait for the surgery day to come. I will be so glad when my day arrives so I can get off this emotional rollercoaster that I have been on for months...LOL At least I know that my life will be better after all of this is final. Hang in there, and talk to people if you can. It helps to let people know what you are feeling (if you even know yourself:o) Good luck and people here will always listen and support you! Rastis100 0 Posted October 6, 2007 Goodluck to both of you, I was only banded 3 days ago and I know exactly how you are feeling. My days leading up to the op seemed to go so slowly, now I don't know where the days are going. I am doing well, a little sore but nothing that regular meds aren't fixing. Take care!! consuelita 0 Posted October 6, 2007 I will be banded Oct. 24th. How long does it take after surgery before you can drive?
Rastis100 0 Posted October 6, 2007 I will be getting my staples out on the 8th (5 days post op) and I will be driving myself. The nursing staff didn't seem to have a problem with that. But you may want to check with your medical team and see what they suggest.
Mamasahn 0 Posted October 6, 2007 lblack66, I know exactly how you feel. I was banded on August 28th and was scared to death. I actually sobbed until they knocked me out. But it was over in 45 minutes and from the moment I walked in to the moment I left was only 3 hours and 50 minutes. If the anxiety is too much, your surgeon can prescribe a valium or two for the day of surgery. That's what they did for me. Consuelita, my surgeons said there were absolutely no restrictions what so ever due to the surgery. The restrictions from driving was based solely on the use of the narcotic pain killers. Make sure you ask at your pre-op appt. Congratulations to you all.
