Redmaxx 740 Posted May 16, 2017 OK, so I am very involved in the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Michigan. On Saturday we attended a fundraiser and I had no less than 10 people pull me aside to talk about my weight loss. And all 10 of them told me, "Well you don't need to lose any more weight or you will look sickly." I thought that was pretty ballsy. Who are they to tell me that I don't need to lose any more weight? Maybe I should have gone to them to perform the RNY on me since they have apparently all been to medical school. Mind your own damn business people and just be happy for me to be healthier. Sorry, my rant is now over (it has been gnawing away at me since Saturday night). Please continue with your day. 12 Dametris, GBLady41, ProudGrammy and 9 others reacted to this
OutsideMatchInside 10,166 Posted May 16, 2017 Well at least you are talking to your face and not behind you back. I want to lose 20-25 more pounds so people can gossip about me and say I am on drugs or something People have no idea what normal looks like. When I watch old movies I realize how fat everyone is. 6 Sosewsue61, Dimples58, GBLady41 and 3 others reacted to this
Travelher 915 Posted May 16, 2017 Yep that was me last week. 3 separate people pulled me aside and told me I could stop now. Really, I didn't know I needed other's permission to stop losing weight. 2 of the 3 also warned me about looking old or "gaunt" if I lose too much...Mind trip. 6 Dimples58, Sosewsue61, jdown and 3 others reacted to this

BRINGSEXXYBACK13 0 Posted May 16, 2017 well there is a fine line between looking thin and looking gaunt. It can happen anytime- it has happened to me but I put a stop to that with a quickness. My concern is that I continue lose weight and I don't want to. My weight was stable for a while, but since I started in this new position the weight is sliding off again. I do eat-3 meals but find myself being hungry in between (which was not happening before) this job does require more activeness, so I am wondering if I need to increase my caloric intake. Any thoughts?

Please continue with your day. These so called well wishers are just jealous and think we should do weight loss on our own no surgery, well in 2013 I was up to 238 lbs and I'm 4'11" my bmi is at 42, five years later I've managed to get down now to 204-210 but I fluctuate all the time. My own mother had more confidence in me when I quit drugs than she has for keeping the weight off. I dont get it but I dont care anymore. I'm doing this and I'm gonna do it right now. I've tried long enough to do it alone and I don't feel guilty asking for the tools I will receive thru wls.Sent from my SM-G360P using BariatricPal mobile app 1 njgal reacted to this

Berry78 4,261 Posted May 17, 2017 People love to be told they're right. Just say "Thanks, I'm working with my doctor on it." I know I have been surprised by others' weight loss, and get concerned. 2 jdown and GBLady41 reacted to this

Any thoughts? My NUT recommends eating 4 - 5 mini meals a day every 3 - 4 hours. She doesn't want us to be hungry in between meals. This might help with your hunger. Also if you are more active, you probably need more calories. Add a healthy snack in between 2 of your 3 meals. 1 GBLady41 reacted to this
