MarinaGirl 609 Posted May 14, 2017 Can you provide more info so we can better support you? Are you following your surgeon's eating plan or not, getting in the right amount of fluids and Protein each day, falling back on old habits? Or is the issue you're comparing your weight loss to others? We want to help.
Syaniya 319 Posted May 14, 2017 It's been 7 weeks since I was sleeved. I am doing so poorly, I have only lost 11lbs since. I need a mentor/ buddy . Please message me .Thank you,Hadalis.Try not to compare yourself to any one elses loss. I get on here and see people losing 40 lbs. in 2 months and yes it gets depressing when im barely losing. I have beeb sleeved for 6 weeks now. On sleeved date was 226, about 8 or 9 days later was down about 13 lbs. and there I stayed for almost 3 weeks. Lost about 2-3 lbs, and then stayed the same for the next 2 weeks, now just in the last few days have lost another 2 lbs. So it shows I'm down about 20 lbs in 6 weeks. I am following my surgeons plan though, I know I could get in more Water but that has always been a struggle for me. It could also depend on your surgeon's plan. From day 2 we are allowed cottage cheese, pudding, yogurts, anything soft. Many people are on 2 weeks or more of liquid diet. Just keep following the plan they gave you and success will be yours!Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app
Hadalis 0 Posted May 17, 2017 Thank you for your encouraging words. I have been following his plan even tough my Water intake is not good. I have yet to exercise because I injured my ankle badly 2 weeks after surgery. Beside, being pre menauposal does not help. I am so discourage . Everytime I come on here I get very depress to see how well others are doing. I went into surgery @ 200lbs, almost 2 months this Sat., lost 13 lbs. FAILURE. Diana_in_Philly 1,426 Posted May 17, 2017 @Hadalis do you have access to a swimming pool? That will let you get some exercise without putting weight on that ankle (assuming you are not in a cast.) Or a recumbent exercise bike, maybe? Up your Water intake. Drink every chance you get. Plan your meals/snacks so that there is always Protein involved and don't let yourself get down. I know how hard it is when you start to compare yourself to others. Keep in mind that during the first six weeks, your body is healing itself from a fairly major surgical procedure. That takes energy. For what its worth, i have plenty of days when I read the boards and feel like I'm not doing as well as I should. Then I look at some old photos and do some math. As of today, I'm 8.5 months out from surgery and 13 months from my high weight. I'm down 90 pounds and have lost 75% of my excess weight. As far as my surgical team is concerned, I'm at goal because they wanted me to lose 70% of my excess weight. I have another 30 pounds I'd like to lose but we'll see. You are fierce. You are courageous. You are making changes for the better and change takes time. Be kind to yourself. Do what you can. You are not a failure. You are amazing!
