Anybody regret getting WLS?

I'm so sorry you're going through this but maybe hang in there for a couple of days and see how it goes? From all that i've read it sounds like the first few days can be really tough. You'll drudge through this!

I'm 8 days out and am thankful I am doing well. I have to say the best thing I did was make myself walk A LOT. It's the only way to get the gas out and to be honest even though I had to make myself do it I really only felt good when I was walking. It will get better but the first week is rough. I am pretty much back to my normal self. My surgeon told me to walk walk walk and he was so happy, every time he visited me I was up and doing laps around the unit with my IV pole.

I'm 19wks out and don't have a single regret but I did have some rough Patches. Those first 48 hours in the hospital were miserable. I was in pain or high, I missed food and I instantly had regret but when I got home and started really healing I found each day got better. Now I would not change a thing. Those first months, are just that, a short blip of time. I'm now almost 5 months out. I can eat whatever I want, my sleeve is like steele but I never had a weak stomach before, albeit I don't just eat whatever. I've learned how to eat in public and found that I eat more normally now. I used to be so embarrassed when we would go out and I cleared my plate but all my girl friends had left overs. I'm just loving this new life.

Going out and eating as much as the people I'm with is something I soooo look forward to. I'd easily put away double what they ate, plus dessert.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
