Sleeved on 3/28, have been eating really clean but today had a craving for BBQ Sauce. Down 30 lbs and don't want to slow down the pace I've been loosing. Anyone introduced salsa, hot sauce other Condiments? Are they just empty carbs and to be avoided?

Hot sauce is no calories, so go crazy. Just make sure you are taking a PPI and antacid.

I don't eat Salsa, doesn't interest me, can't help you there.

An entire brand of calorie free Condiments https://www.waldenfarms.com/

They are all just flavoring, xanthum gum and Water.

Best sugar free BBQ Sauce I have ever had, http://www.netrition.com/guys_bbq_sauce.html You can't even tell the difference.

I've been using the BBQ sauces we have always used at home. Generally, on my chicken or pork there is less than a tablespoon of BBQ Sauce, so it's not a major calorie hog.

I second the Guy's BBQ sauce and the Walden Farms. I didn't like Walden Farms salad dressings, but the chocolate sauce, caramel and pancake Syrup are on point.

I ate them all the time while I was losing. Salsa barely has any calories. Hot sauce has almost no calories.

Ketchup and BBQ Sauce can add up... just keep it in moderate amounts.

Condiments are my life!!!

I love Salsa, I eat it about once a week. My NUT had no issues with me eating it. I tend to keep BBQ Sauce to a minimum if it has a lot of sugar in it. ketchup and Mustard I do use but not much and I stick to low fat mayo if I chose to use mayo.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
