Frustrated and afraid

Recommended Posts

I am exactly 3 weeks out from my surgery, and as of today from the two week pre op diet, I have only lost 24 lbs. I haven't lost ANYTHING in 5 days. What is the BEST way to track every single thing? Just write it down?? How much Water and Protein should I get in a day? I am so discouraged.

Are you getting enough calories? Myfitnesspal app is a great tool. My nut asks for 100g of Protein and 100g of carbs per day. What is your nutrition plan? Are you sticking to it? Hang in there. Everyone says stalls are normal.

I think apps are the best way to track. My fitness pal sucks in my opinion it is flooded with too much inaccurate information.

You can write it down, but an app is doing to do most of the work for you and keep track easier.

If you don't have one get a scale.

Your Dr should have told you how much to Protein and fluids. Do you have a post-op plan? Also it is normal not to lose weight. You don't lose weight every day or even every week.

What app do you use? I'm on my pre-op diet alternating between 800 and 1200 cals per day and MFP keeps giving me fits for not enough calories. I know at first, I won't be able to get in that many calories and it will bug me.

I use LoseIt! Premium.

MFP and any other app will tell you that you are under calories if you close your day out. You don't have to close your day out. The only purpose in closing your day is to get it to tell you what your projected weight loss will be. That isn't going to be accurate anyway. Just don't close your day out, just track and move to the next day and it won't bother you about low calories.

I think I have closed my day like 3 times in the past 2 years. And LoseIt still estimates my weight loss even if I don't close my days.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
