Can you eat watermelon

Recommended Posts

"can" is a hard question to answer. Probably, yes, you can!

But the problem with watermelon is that it has a lot of sugar, and almost no nutritional value. If you're craving fruit, try to stick to berries; they're a much better choice, since they're high in Fiber and other goodies~

Yep I've eaten watermelon without issues. Someone with an RNY might have trouble with the sugar content though, so that's worth considering.

Fit it into your diet plan (aka don't be filling up on it on days you're way below your Protein goals etc), measure your portion, and enjoy. :)

I should add: IF you have your nutritionist's okay. If you're only cleared for full liquids, or you're only cleared for a certain amount of sugar in a day and watermelon doesn't fit into that... well then, totally different story!

Being a pouch I will not eat watermelon just because it has too much sugar. I don't want to dump after eating it. I would say that you can eat anything. Should you? NO.

It won't be an issue. Just a small amount. The sugar is natural, not processed. What teacup said is great advice.

I literally have meals of watermelon and cherries. Watermelon has lots of nutrition! Including over 30% of your DV of Vitamin A and C. And the sugar is very low impact because there's 93% Water in it (hence the name).
