I also have a 3/8 inch discrepancy in my legs plus I have a weak ankle that flips out on me I have a hairline fracture of the knee cap and a ripped tendon from a fall a couple months ago period my lower spine is deteriorating and I get excruciating pain in my groin when I do certain things or are on my feet too long. This is such a dilemma I refuse to take narcotics and the other analgesics are of little help. Do you have any suggestions

I gained 20 pounds because I was ill for a few weeks and now I'm recuperating. Feeling better today. I get neuropathy in my legs and arms. Due to me not being able to exercise with my daily walks, I have gained the weight. I eat the right foods. Just no exercise. I see why my surgeon told me that I must exercise at least 44 minutes a day. If I don't exercise than I start to gain there weight back. So today I'm back on the treadmill if it's raining outside. Or just go out for my morning and afternoon walks. I need to get those extra pounds off. So good luck. Just get back into exercising.

I have a Protein shake for breakfast
Greek yogurt for lunch
3 oz meat with salad for dinner.
That's my food for the day

I believe you should be eating more. Eating too low will mess your metabolism up all over again.

Can you give me some suggestions? I really would appreciate it. Thanks

Do you have access to a pool? The Water will keep the pressure off your body, but allow you to get some exercise. Consider doing some swimming.

go to this site and see what your caloric intake should be at your height/weight/activity levels.

For what you listed as your daily food...looks like you're eating less than 500-600 calories a day. It should be way more than that. Check out the calculator above and see what you should be eating whether it's maintenance or losing 2 lbs a week.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
