Hey everyone, I’m doing great and I hope everyone else is too! I did cheat some on some treats but I’m holding my weight and plan to get back on track with exercise at the new year. Down 75 pounds and so thankful for my sleeve. Wishing everyone a blessed 2018!

Wish I had come back to this thread sooner....I'm glad you're doing great! I hope the year is going just as well for you so far!

Okay, so yesterday was our 9 month post date. My loss has slowed considerably, but I'm not complaining. From my highest weight (according to my scale), I've lost 82lbs. Hey, I'll take it! :) We'll see what the doc's office scale says today. Here are before and afters. My belly looks to be the part that'll be the last to go. I think I heard somewhere "the first place you gain tends to be the last place you lose"...so far, pretty true. LOL Anyway, I hope you all are doing well. I'm still going strong with my plant based diet, could do better, but I'm not going to stress about it either. I just eat what I want, but I do make the effort to eat good. I'm really learning to not stress. I go to the gym, not thinking of numbers (how long, how many calories burned, etc) in any way (I'm just not made that way!). I work out, some days hard, some days easy. Currently I'm very sore from a heavy weight workout yesterday. I'm anticipating not being able to really move tomorrow. LOL I will be going to the gym for an easy bike ride today though.

Hope you all are doing well. We all have our busy lives, but its good to hear from each other from time to time. I'm back on more, I quit my job....so yeah, no stress!!! :)

You look great @Newme17 !!! I love your new avatar photo.

I am doing pretty good. I can't believe it is 9 months already. I have been at goal since about early November I guess. I am maintaining my weight between 150-154 and it stayed there through the holidays. I haven't noticed that my stomach can hold more food yet so my portions are still the same. I have noticed that I do seem to get hungry a little more often, but I am not having any problems maintaining my weight. I can wear a size 6 pants and a large or even a medium in some tops.

I attached a photo of me with my daughter a few weeks ago and below is one of me at almost my highest weight in 2016. I feel so blessed to have been able to lose the weight and get healthier. I feel 110% better then I have in a very long time.

It is so nice to check in and read how everyone is doing!!!

Thanks @Apple1. I keep most my meals no more than 3oz now. 4 if it’s salad. I try to weigh it. That’s the extent of counting anything and usually that doesn’t happen. Lol.

I’m so glad you’ve maintained! And well so. That’s awesome. Great before and after pics too. I love the scenery on the before, Peru??

Yes, that photo was taken in Peru. I find myself wishing we had taken that trip in the Spring of 2018 instead of 2016. I know I would have had a much better time now and I would like the photos of myself more. I know there will be many more trips for us in the future so I have so much to look forward to.

I am so happy that you are not stressing about things. I don't either. I am eating well, but I don't measure things anymore. I know how much I can eat and I stop when I am full. I am gearing up to get back to running more as soon as the temps are above 50. I am beginning to hate winter now with how cold I always am..lol...

I went all fanatic today about my kitchen cupboards. My girls tend to accumulate Snacks and I’ve just had it. I pulled them all out and together and said eat these. So they did. Then I threw whatever was left away.

Went to the store a little later with my oldest...she says “mommy, I’m going to buy some cookies”. I say “say what? No you aren’t. I just got rid of that junk and you won’t be putting them in the kitchen, and for sure not your room! So NO, no cookies!” She settles for gum.

If the temptation isn’t there, I won’t bother with it, but there’s been too much of it, partly my fault. So I’m done. And hopefully I’ll get my kids to eat a healthier snack alternative as well, which they will, cause they have no choice now. LOL

Hey there sleevers!

I saw a thread started for may 2018 sleevers and it was shocking to think I was planning this step a year ago.

I am down 132 lbs, I have managed to lose 18 since the Xmas. This is something I am very much at work on and am back to my 2 lb/week average since getting back on track after the holidays.

I plan to lose another 40 lbs and reevaluate. I am at 203 right now and can’t believe I am a few weeks away from being under 200 which has not been the case since high school.

There are things I would have done differently but one of the things I am glad I did was get on an exercise regimen. The changes to my body are shocking - not just being smaller but being stronger, with better posture, muscle tone, stamina.

My average resting heart rate is under 60. I sleep an average of 6 hours a night instead of 8 and am well rested. The hair I shredded like a German Shepherd in the summer has come back and I can’t wait for winter to be over and Summer to come.

We should all be proud of our accomplishments. This journey has not been easy but it has been worth it

XOXO to everyone.

We are almost to our one year surgery anniversary. I can’t believe a year has gone by. I haven’t been around much lately on the forums just super busy at work and living life with a new granddaughter born this past January. I am still maintaining at 150-155 and made it to a size 6. Maintenance has been ok. It hasn’t been as hard or easy as I thought lol I know that sounds crazy, but somethings are hard and others easy.

I hate the cold weather now as I am still always cold. I took a break from running during the coldest parts of this winter and I am getting back up to speed now. I am still working on simplifying my life with better time management. I hope everyone of my May sisters is doing well and are either at goal or still doing well with their progress. I need to catch up with everyone. I hope I can find time to keep up with the forums some. Many blessings to you all!!

Almost a year y’all. I hope to hear from each of you. All is well for me so far. I’m not focused as I should be, but I’m good. Still maintaining at about 20lbs from goal...so I know I have to pick up the pace/focus at some point. Just not entirely the most important thing in my life currently. I’m still glad to be down though. I’ll post again on the 15th...I have my one year post appointment that day too.

Hey everyone!

It's hard to believe it's almost a year later. I have exceeded what I thought I would accomplish out of being sleeved and have worked hard and life is a miracle.

In a week I am going to the Scottish highlands and have planned many great walks and hikes and can't wait to take the kind of vacation that would have been unimaginable a year ago.

It’s been a year, wow. So, I went to my year check up back on Tuesday. It didn’t go very well. I’m about 6 lbs from doc goal. 20 from mine. But he wasn’t happy it seemed. Not that I care too much about his feeling about me, but it was depressing leaving. Part of it was my fault, I felt like I had every excuse under the sun why I ate some chips or a cookie. He reminded me that I’m teaching my kids bad behavior too. No one wants to hear this stuff, but it’s good to be reminded. It kicked me in the butt so much, I changed instantly once again. Life has been a roller coaster emotionally for me the past few months and I allowed those emotional eating moments to creep back in. So, no more AGAIN. I’ll be changing up my children’s menu as well. They will eat just as healthy as I need to.

Other than that, I haven’t changed much from the last pic I posted. 1/2 lb down in three months. Overall I’m over 80lbs down...which is INFINITELY better! I won’t complain and can’t complain about that!

I suspect once I get my head and emotions in check here, the weight will drop again to reach my goal. So, I’ll give another update in about a month, maybe sooner. I’m trying to log back in here more often again.

Life happens....

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
