Apple1 2,572 Posted July 23, 2017 3 hours ago, Newme17 said: Happy Sunday everyone. I hope you all have blessed and rested day! I went to the gym this morning, but it wasn't 5am!!! LOL It was about 9:30 and nice too. I did a 30 min cardio workout (walk on a 3% incline on the treadmill) and a full body strength workout. As always, I feel awesome after a workout. My muscles were shaking afterwards. My husband made eggs with spinach and mushrooms. After having eggs with veggies for the last 4 meals (yes, I ate it all yesterday too), you'd think I'd be tired of it. Well, I was of the one I had yesterday. But my husband's tasted much better to me. LOL So I ate it anyway. I won't be having any more for a while though...I don't want to get tired of it and then have to figure out another Breakfast meal that doesn't have meat. Yesterday, my husband wanted a poor boy and I requested some turkey meat from a local restaurant here. It's true, we're not really eating meat, but we will have some every once in a blue moon. But I told my husband that if it's $5 for a tiny bit then don't bother. Well, he didn't bother, but he didn't think about how much you actually get with $5 either (1/4lb). I guess I should have been more specific with him. He felt awful for not getting it and offered to go back, but I told him no, don't worry about it. Thus I ate eggs with veggies for dinner last night again. I'm still craving that turkey. lol Well, I've got to go and finish getting ready for church. Again, ya'll be blessed. Have a wonderful day! Yay for the gym time. I bet that workout felt good. Eggs are good for you so keep eating them...lol... I go through stages and eat them a lot and then go 2 weeks not. Since I have chickens they are always available. I think eating meat every once in a while especially if you are craving it is not a bad thing. Most definitely if it is turkey My dh will take a picture of something before he buys it just to make sure he got the right item...lol he doesn't want to come home with the wrong thing. Our men sure are sweet I had a good day, but I have been so tired this afternoon. I ran 2.6 miles this morning and the heat really did me in. I have been sewing Patches on my Pathfinder uniform trying to get ready for the week long camping trip we have coming up the first week of August. That is going to be a big test for me. Trying to eat good and well away from home with camp food. 2 Newme17 and Missy161 reacted to this

I've done my best to encourage a certain individual lately and I won't respond to the next status that was posted. I'm not taking sides (especially when I don't know the full situation). I don't fully approve of outing names either, so, yeah. I'll be sticking to this thread and my lone statuses when I finally post one. I think that is the best course. I hate the negativity. It is like some people just can't let anything drop or agree to disagree. Life is too short to let some stranger on the internet effect you so strongly. It feels like some people are back to high school days with all the drama they create.. 3 Newme17, fatima635 and Missy161 reacted to this

I can imagine a lot of trail mix and Jerky during camping. I'm sure bringing Protein Drinks could be good too. I was on a mission trip to meet my sponsored child. I had also been trying to be healthier for a couple of months so I cut back in sugar. I think my liver had definitely been bad before. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 199 GW 135 That's great! Onward and upwards to better health!! 😊 Oh and to be physically well to be on missions is especially important. Good for you! Sounds like fun though! I am going to take plenty of my own food to supplement. We have something at every meal I should be able to eat, but there will be lots of carbs too. Sandwiches for lunch, which I will be prepared for. I am looking forward to it, but I know 6 nights camping with 12, 10-15 year olds will be a good test of my endurance and patience. My grandson and my niece will both be along, and it will be Isaiah's first camping trip. It will be a blessing I am sure. I want to be prepared though. 1 Newme17 reacted to this

We will need all the prayers we can get...lol There will be 3 of us leaders along and one 19 year old volunteer so hoping we will have all of our bases covered. We usually only take the kids for weekends, but this is a special trip with all of the different clubs in our church conference coming, so there will be lots of kids around. I will be sure and try to post some photos during the trip. 2 Missy161 and Newme17 reacted to this
Newme17 3,444 Posted July 24, 2017 I finally purchased Proteinaholic! I used reward points I had on Amazon to get it, so nothing out of my pocket. I should be getting it in a couple of days. I'm sure my husband might find it fascinating too. He told me this morning that he feels the difference between trying to gain/bulk up before (with all the Protein drinks, meats, etc) and now (with plant based eating). He says he feels more alert and healthy and that the muscle that he's building is here to stay. Before, if he quit working out for a few days, it'll relax. Now, it's different. I wouldn't know now, in regards to muscle building, but I hope I feel the same. I've started my weights again, so we shall see. I'll share from the book. Not a ploy to convert anyone to plant based, obviously. Lol. But that we might all grow in knowledge and wisdom together. If it makes sense and if science can back it up, then it can be truth. I'm all about truth. We can see how it might apply to us or not apply. Should be interesting. 😊 Goodnight! 1 Apple1 reacted to this
