It was pretty cool. I just couldn't keep watching after I saw the gauze go inside. My liver looked good and I noticed my surgeon did not have to use a retractor to move it. The video just shows what the camera showed inside. Well what i saw thus far anyway.

So, it's bedtime for me. Since I'm off the narcs I get to drive. Gotta get back to the routine of life here tomorrow. Get the kids to school. I'm going in to work as well. I feel really good actually. Best part, my boss won't be in until tues or Wednesday so I get to catch up on work by myself. Yay!! I work for a small pipeline construction company that has a huge revenue. It's been awesome, I was a stay at home mom for a long time. My youngest wanted to go to prek, guess she was bored with me. Lol. So since she went to school I figured I might as well as work and stay busy. I used to work corporate jobs, about 13 years of it. This small company has been exciting and interesting. I've had to rearrange a lot of the accounting procedures though. Not sure how they stayed afloat before. Haha.

Thankfully it's a desk job (the only ones I like) and part time for the time being. Ill be full time soon though. I'll be sure to get up and walk around throughout my day. I'm anticipating a great start tomorrow. Anyone else going back to work earlier than two weeks?

Good luck on your first day back at work @Newme17. I feel like I could probably go back to work tomorrow if I needed to., but since I have so much sick leave saved up I decided to just go ahead and take two weeks just in case. I will go back on the 30th after Memorial Day.

Have a great day tomorrow and goodnight.

I also ended up taking 2 weeks just to be on the safe side since my job involves me working non stop, getting up and sitting down a lot. I work in a school. Good luck! Let us know how your first day back was!

LMFAOOOO your horsey [emoji24], .. I was reading a thread about how people can get hernias or would need reconstructive surgery.. that's actually scary ..

I already had a hernia that my surgeon fixed while doing the gastrectomy.

Ok so I mixed half a scoop of powdered Protein with my 4oz of yogurt. OMG it was gross. 😝 It was supposed to be unflavored, but definitely not!

So I ended up throwing it away . I will have to try the powder in something else. I did managemto get 3oz of the plain low fat vanilla yogurt down. It felt and tasted heavenly to me after a week of nothing but Clear Liquids. I am finding it hard to wait 30 minutes to start drinking again. I have to keep reminding myself.

I lost 8 pounds this first week. I am happy with that. I was fully prepared for a smaller number so I was pleasantly surprised.

My dh went back to work today so I am here alone just me and my little pooch Tink. I am a little lost as to what to do. I know what I should be doing I have a list of things to get accomplished, but I just seem to be lacking motivation today. It is raining outside so maybe that is contributing to my lazy mood.

I hope everyone is having a good Monday morning 😃

Why don't you try cocotein by Isopure, it's liquid whey protein .. it's the best.. it's clear, taste good. Gluten , aspartame and lactose free. 20 grams of protein and 100% absorbed by your body. It's delicious and you wont have to deal with powder. They have different flavors too. You can find it in GNC and the Vitamin Shopp

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
