kins117 104 Posted May 8, 2017 My surgery was 4/12 and I definitely feel this way. I have my good days and bad days but it has definitely affected me.
melissa16 4 Posted May 8, 2017 I'm glad we aren't alone! Sometimes the hardest part is making meals for everyone else and being mindful not to take a bite or anything. 1 neyney1960 reacted to this

Dashofpixiedust8 1,469 Posted May 8, 2017 @carlychloe2 @Deactivatedfatgal @Joann454 My surgeon's office told me the anesthesia can also have an affect on your moods after surgery. Which would explain why after surgeries you feel off. 2 Joann454 and Deactivatedfatgal reacted to this

It's actually not uncommon for people to have ptsd after a procedure. Dashofpixiedust8 1,469 Posted May 8, 2017 Also, I have depression and bipolar already and after surgery I had an increase in depression and bipolar manic swings. The hormones that are released in weight loss messed with the effectiveness of my meds. I have now stabilized. I went back to normal about 9-10 months out but it was definitely a struggle for a bit. 2 Deactivatedfatgal and CocoNina reacted to this
KJencius 21 Posted May 8, 2017 I am only 14 days out and I cry at the drop of a hat. What your feeling is normal. Personally, I don't care for it because I am not normally so emotional, but I have come to appreciate the release it gives me.Sent from my LG-D851 using BariatricPal mobile app 1 Dashofpixiedust8 reacted to this

It's actually not uncommon for people to have ptsd after a procedure. That's comforting to me. I never understood why this happened but it does make sense (not to diminish folks who have been through horrific events that caused PTSD). At least if it hits this time I'll have some knowledge as to why. Might help to push through it.
