bbk95 15 Posted May 5, 2017 I'm curious about the hairloss surgery may cause. Can you guys let me know how bad your hairloss was?
KaiserKid 81 Posted May 5, 2017 I'm about 6mos out and I'd say I have mild- to moderate- Hair loss. It's not coming out in chunks like some people, but it's just falling out in strands almost constantly. No bald spots or anything it's just annoying. 1 bbk95 reacted to this
Acceber12 5 Posted May 9, 2017 does anyone know what causes the Hair loss? is it hormonal, some sort of nutrient deficiency, or something else?
shamale 54 Posted May 12, 2017 I was sleeved a year ago and experienced mild Hair loss. I take Biotin and make sure I eat enough Protein daily and drink Water. I don't know if you wear your hair natural but I make sure to keep my hair moisturized and do low maintenance styles. I notice my hair is starting to grow back fuller now. 1 bbk95 reacted to this

The Hair loss is due to telogen effluvium. Essentially, the shock of surgery causes temporary trauma to the hair follicles. Keep reading to learn more. Quote Similarly, vaccinations, crash dieting, physical trauma such as being in a car crash, and having surgery can sometimes be a shock to the system and a proportion of scalp hair follicles go into hibernation. As the environmental insult passes and the body recovers, the TE subsides and there is new Hair growth. http://www.americanhairloss.org/types_of_hair_loss/effluviums.asp This type of hair loss normally begins anywhere from three to six months after the surgery and subsides within a few months after it started. Some people praise Biotin supplements and Progaine Shampoo and conditioner products, but time is the factor that resolves the issue. 3 bbk95, kaboom23 and OutsideMatchInside reacted to this
Jdserra 78 Posted May 12, 2017 I'm 7 months out and it's bad. Like a hand full falls out everytime I shower. You can pretty much see bald spots on my head when I put my hair up in a ponytail. I pray that it will slow down here soon. Sent from my SM-J700T using BariatricPal mobile app

glitter eyes 1,398 Posted May 12, 2017 I had Hair loss and my hair got pretty thin, dry, brittle and had a lot of breakage. This happened even though I got plenty of Protein, took Vitamins, lab work was normal and I took Biotin. I tried tons of different shampoos, oils, and essential oils. What finally worked for me was I started taking powdered marine collagen mixed in my Water every day and I drank a cup of bamboo tea once or twice a day (bamboo tea is high in silica and is good for skin hair and nails). This combinations stopped the hair loss and my hair over a course of about two months got shinier and the breakage stopped. I am almost three years post op and my hair is back to normal. I occasionally drink bamboo tea just to help it out plus I like the taste. 5 bbk95, phighfield66, camony and 2 others reacted to this

I'm on a high dose of it plus I used Biotin Shampoo along with Bosley shampoo. I just gotta ride it out I guess. heylizzyclay 32 Posted May 13, 2017 Seriously - Biotin. I haven't had any Hair loss. Actually my hair has gotten stronger and fuller. Also, it's important to stick with your Vitamins on schedule (AM/PM). That really helps too I've been told. 2 Brosky and bbk95 reacted to this
