Want opinion on do I tell

Recommended Posts

Ask yourself this, would you want him to tell you if he was having this surgery?

Its all a personal choice, and I bet people in here would be split pretty evenly between tell or don't tell. I personally would tell them. You are going to have the surgery and eventually that person will probably put 2 and 2 together, so you might as well test the waters.

Hi everyone I'm newly dating someone and soon I will be my VSG surgery. My question is do I tell this guy I'm dating or not

If you have to ask, the answer is probably no.

If you were in a place with him that you had a deep connection/relationship, you wouldn't be asking us you would just tell him.

I wasn't dating anyone at the time I had surgery. The people have I dated post-op, I have been honest with about losing weight and trying to get in better health, but I haven't mentioned surgery. None have ask and most aren't curious that I have lost/am losing weight. They just like that I'm pretty and look amazing in a dress.

I guess the only issue you are going to have to address is recovery. You don't want to ghost on a new guy if you like him,

I dunno if it isn't serious I would probably just break it off. You need to be focused on yourself and you food. It takes a lot of energy to get this right post-op. Then when you get into post-op hormone based mood swings. I wouldn't subject anyone to that I didn't have a really strong connection to. I'm lucky I have kept all my friends

So dish on this guy so we can give better advice. How long have you been dating? What are your ages? Is he divorced? Where did you meet him? Have you been to pound town yet?

I'm terrified of dating now, them seeing my body now that it's all melted. I'm having a really hard time emotionally with that myself. I am really into this guy and he's into me but I'm too afraid to pull the trigger because then I have to have to deal with how disgusting I feel I look without cloths on. But then I don't want to wait 2+ years for the full-body life to have sex. lol! Oh man, I'm such a mess. This is the one area where I have no idea what to do, how to start, etc.

Well if you really like him then be honest & tell him if you plan on still seeing him ... cos think he's gonna know somethings up eventually right ...then u will see if there is a stronger connection.. ..
especially when u start dropping all the weight.. .. lol otherwise if you don't wanna keep seeing this guy then no don't .. & ghost him lol.. good luck Tammy ! [emoji4][emoji106]

Good luck. Just be weary. You never know who's going to have an opinion about your surgery and he might have a negative reaction you didn't expect. But I do agree with the Person who says he is going to know something is up depending on how frequent you see each other.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
