Fun: Surprises after weight loss

Recommended Posts

Ok, so I'm 40/150 down. I've noticed my EARLOBES have lost weight!

What surprises have you experienced?

In the past, when I lost about 50 pounds, my feet lost about 1/2 shoe size. I'm curious to see what size my feet will be when I'm 100+ down.

I have lost about 100 pounds and my shoe size went down one. It is too funny.

I have noticed that when I drive or sit for extended periods I end up hunched over almost like I am crouching. The fat that used to hold me up is gone.

Oh, and I also looked at my wife's breasts the other day and noticed something sticking out below my gut which I have not seen for over 15 years!

40 pounds down (preop) and I found face wrinkles. Not too upset about it.... except I still have another 140 to lose so I can't wait to see how many more wrinkles pop up [emoji15].
Oh the joys of fatty filler.

I know my tailbone hurts when I sit too long. I have a coccyx cushion in my car. Lol

In the past as I lost weight my pants got longer. Pants that were the perfect length started to rub the ground and get caught under my heels. I guess they hung lower and there wasn't as much width to fill them out.

Also, you always think to buy new clothes, but don't always remember to replace undergarments because they have a decent amount of stretch, until they don't. I was at the gym one day doing Zumba and my underwear fell down inside my work out pants. Luckily I had the pants on to keep them from hitting the ground, I'd hate to think if I was out somewhere dressed in a skirt!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
