I've looked back on my sleeve journey since October. I have had some bad days as of late but I'm trying to look at how far I've come.

I started at 311lbs I am currently 229lbs. 82lbs loss is not where I thought I would be at this point - I thought it would be more but it is what it is.

The positives I have lost 20 yes 20% percent of my body fat when I started. I have lost 38 inches all over. 10 from the waist and chest and 8 from the hips and I am down 14 BMI. I started working out with a Personal trainer and couldn't do 1 squat now I'm doing a May squat challenge.

The negatives are I'm not drinking as much Water as I would like and I have picked up some of my bad habits that I am trying to rid of which has been hard but this whole journey is what it says a journey. It's been 'fun' figuring out the things that I cannot eat anymore.... NOT lol but it's part of the process.

Would I have the weight loss surgery again.....I'm still hmmmm and ahhhh about this. Would I have liked to tried a little harder than going to the extreme of cutting out 75% of my stomach?? oh yeah BUT on the other hand I'm glad I did it because my portions are restricted. Sometimes I forget to eat because I'm not hungry and I have to force myself to eat.

It's been a process and having the surgery has changed my outlook on life. I've definitely become a fitter me and I am looking forward to where the rest of my will take me.

I hope everyone is having great success after their surgery and look forward to hearing from you all about your experiences.

I exhausted all options before getting wls, true for 5 years and just gained and got bigger. It's non reversible and I think it's normal to feel like what if I would've coulda shoulda? For me, had I not gone through with it, I'd be regretting it right now.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
