Hello,

Can anyone recommend a scale that can handle over 450 pounds?

I have a Taylor scale right now and I cannot get an accurate reading.

It says it can handle 450 pounds but it doesn't seem to work.

Any suggestions on a good brand?

We have a TAYLOR also. We got it because my hubby weighed over 450#'s. This is the same one that the "BIGGEST LOSERS use". We have had our's for over 5 years and have only changed the baterys 1 time. Not to sound weird but did you check the battery? My hubby had went so long without having a scale to weigh on that when he started losing weight he was jumping on them every few minutes. LOL Myself NOT SO MUCH!!! I have always hated to weigh, in fact I have been known to cancel Dr appointments because I knew they would weigh me. Even now I have been at my goa weight for over 3 years and you would think it shouldn't bother me!! Somethings never change. LOL

This is the scale I use:

https://www.amazon.com/My-Weigh-XL-550-Talking-Bathroom/dp/B0014ZQH84/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1493916572&sr=8-3-fkmr1&keywords=heavy+duty+scale+550+pounds

It goes up to 550 pounds. I was 540 at my highest.

Funny thing...I didn't know it talked. One day after I had moved it I turned it on and it said "hello" I freaked out! haha

The talking is helpful though because when I was so heavy I would need someone else to look at the weight because I couldn't see it but it just tells me the weight so I could weigh myself on my own.

I still use it and I'm now 290 pounds. I still think the talking is helpful because I feel your weight changes if you bend your head down. I love it.

I noticed some of the reviews say theirs died. I've had mine for 2 years with no problem.

LoL I bet you freaked out, reminds me of when my kid had one of those cat toys the rolls on the floor laughing. And one time I was coming home from a night shift IN THE DARK. And when I was at the front door I heard a loud creepy laughter in the dark, my feet literally buckled from fear. And then I realised my kid had left the F*****G toy on the front porch. I disliked it before but after I hated it. hahha

I had a Taylor that went up to 450lbs but was surfable even being digital and then I found a healthometer at Walmart that went to 550lbs. It's very basic and cheap, but it gets the job done fairly accurately. It's within 5lbs of my doctor's scale...usually weighs a little heavier which is good because I don't lie to myself thinking I'm lighter than I actually am. LOL

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
