Hi all! I'm in preop stage but was wondering what I could use to mix as a flavoring of sorts with my Vitaleph Protein Shakes? It's just the whey Protein so I'm needing something to add to it I feel like. For post op as well. Thank you for any advice and suggestions. :)

I'm pre-op as well. My doctor recommends Premier Protien pre made shakes. They come in 5 different flavors( choc, van, straw, banana, and caramel) with 30 grams of protien, 1 gram of sugar and only 160 calories.

I see a lot of peeps using the sugar free syrups to flavor things.. there's Torani and Davinci is another brand. I haven't tried them yet myself but plan to after surgery when I get bored with the shakes. There's lots of recipes online using the syrups

I use the syrups. There's a brand called skinny syrups (Jordan's skinny syrups) that has a foam tipping you can pump onto Decaf coffee. I also took half teaspoons of dry sugar free Jello mix. Oh my how that makes things taste wonderful! Also, a dropin Water flavoring stick can change things up for you. My favorite thing so far:

Vanilla Protein Shake powder.
1/2 teaspoon sugar free cheesecake pudding mix
1/2 teaspoon raspberry sugar free jello mix.

Been it up and put over ice. Amazing!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
