jmar23 32 Posted May 1, 2017 So I was sleeved on February 20th an all has been well. I did have a small stall (4-5 days long) around the 2-3 week mark. Now I am almost 2 and a half months out an my weight loss has slowed a lot with two decent week long stalls in the past 3 weeks. I lost 2 lbs between them but it is back now. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? I follow my diet to the T. I do struggle some days to get my Protein in just because I can't eat that much. When I do manage to hit my target I seem to just end up gaining an losing the same pound. Just wondering if this is normal? I did start back to shakes today to try and break the stall since some have reported that helped. Not the full liquid diet but mostly . Anything else I can do to get past this? 1 rosy066 reacted to this
blizair09 3,250 Posted May 1, 2017 My entire post-op experience has been peppered with stalls. Basically, I'll lose 8-10 pounds in 10 days, and then I'll stall for 10 days, and then the cycle will repeat. Pre-op (I lost 99 pounds during my six month pre-op diet program required by insurance), I lost 3 pounds a week like clock-work, but post-op, the stalls are as prevalent as the losses themselves. 3 JohnnyCakes, Navigating the Wilderness and hikerdog reacted to this
hikerdog 45 Posted May 1, 2017 Similar experience to you blizair09. I finally trued to stop weighing daily. Now I weigh almost weekly. I really couldn't attribute losses or stalls with anything related to diet or exercise. I think maybe it is just metabolism adjusting.
jmar23 32 Posted May 1, 2017 Thanks for the comments. Glad to know it's normal. I know I shouldn't sweat the stall but I was hitting my goals more often than not so I was concerned. As for weighing everyday I am working on getting better at not doing it. The NSV help me not want to run to the scale everyday burst here lately the stall junk has me doing it more often than not. I guess I will just keep doing what I'm doing an wait out the stalls. Thanks for reassuring me that these things happen! 1 ProudGrammy reacted to this
Airstream88 361 Posted May 2, 2017 Meet your targets consistently and make sure you are eating enough calories. At 3 months I was eating 800 - 1000 calories daily per my surgeon's recommendations. It helps to get the Protein in by eating mini-meals every 3 - 4 hours. 1 jmar23 reacted to this
Navigating the Wilderness 824 Posted May 2, 2017 Count me in for the stair step weight loss as well.
jmar23 32 Posted May 13, 2017 Well it seems as if I may have sorta broke the stall. Only 1.5lbs but I will take it. Lol
hikerdog 45 Posted May 13, 2017 Similar loss here. Really haven't changed any nurition or exercise. I guess it's a continuous cycle of getting balanced and then loosing pounds, repeat. 1 jmar23 reacted to this
jmar23 32 Posted June 8, 2017 I haven't really made much progress since I started this thread. I lost couple then gained 4lbs that stayed for a few days then lost a pound. This is just beyond frustrating to me. I go to the gym 3x per week. I average 800-1000 calories. I have tried to eat more and less than that with no change. I get 90-115g Protein, 40-55g carbs per day. Most days I get less than 40 grams of carbs. It's really disappointing and discouraging to not loose weight.
